They are going to end up with the side we could have had, if we'd have had the resources

Apparently left us to move closer to his girlfriend in Bournemouth, perhaps she's just moved to Rochdale!!

Re: Rochdale January signings.
thats probably what the attraction to the job was for Coley, the fact that he could assemble the League 2 team that he WANTS, better wages, facilities and League 1 football and none of our old boys would have left.
Symes is out of contract at the end of this season and he is on loan until then. I'd expect summer moves for a few more of the old guard, Edwards, Grant and possibly Cisak leading the way.
It will be interesting to watch it develop and see "what we could have won"

It's a tried and tested method for managers. Coley seems to be 'doing a Hillcroft', the only difference being we haven't signed anybody from Accy.
Symes loan deal takes him to the end of his Bournemouth contract, so there's every chance we'll sign him permanently if all goes well (and his girlfriend isn't the same one who's got a good job in Bournemouth!). IF we stay up, and Shrews stay down I expect we'll be making another bid for Terry Gornell in the summer, and probably sounding out the likes of Bobby Grant and Jimmy Ryan (though I suspect they'd atill cost a fair whack in transfer fees).
Before Hillcroft left, we were rumoured to have lined up deals for David Perkins, Craig Davies & Jimmy McNulty. They all signed for Barnsley very soon after Hillcroft took over. We'd also tried to sign Stephen Dawson before he went to Orient. Add the likes of Scott Wiseman & Matty Done signing directly from Dale, and ex-Dale Chris Dagnall signing from Scunny, and you've got a proper Barnsleydale FC lineup. I'm just surprised they haven't signed Tom Kennedy, or managed to convince Woy to part with Craig Dawson on loan.
Definitely a case of 'what if?'

Isn't that just what love can do to you !!...and it's so nice to see a bit of romance being injected into what is turning out to be a somewhat prosaic thread !!.
