Re: Rochdale match thread

Doubt very much if Rochdale have had a luckier win all season, equaliser was a fluke of a rebound.Stanley fer me were the better side today, all that was missing was the finishing.

Re: Rochdale match thread

Disappointed !!.
For 75 minutes we were comfortable and had the better chances.
I just couldn't see them getting back in the game and we conceded a fluke goal.
Tom headed the ball straight into a rochdale players face and went him.
They never looked dangerous from corners, but in injury time their lad got across Joycy at the near post, and although keeper saved it,they tapped it in.
Bit sloppy in possession at times, but we looked solid and will be gutted at the result.
Big game on Tuesday now !

Agree 100% with last two posts - suppose that's the luck you get when your riding high near the top of the league, absolutely gutted to come home with nothing from that game

Got to give a heads up to Cav though, good on him for clapping the Stanley fans before turning & clapping the Dale fans - think we all know where his heart lies

Have no doubt, Cav loves stanley.
He hasnt forgotten that it was Stanley that gave him the happiest moment of his career.

Re: Rochdale match thread

In truth it wasn't a great match for just over an hour with both sides failing to provide a decent final pass or shot but when we scored with that left footed "cracker" from Pierro I thought that we were going to win it.
Dale's equaliser was a pure fluke and seemed to knock the stuffing out of our lads. Rochdale don't look like a promotion side to me and I think that they must have had quite a few lucky wins like this one to put them up near the top. Cav did have a good game but he really should have been booked in the first half after 3 or 4 fairly ruthless tackles. We need to be more clinical in our finishing!
Just makes the Morecambe match on Tuesday so much more important. Let justice be done!
ON STANLEY ON

Dunno, Rob, but comments on the Dale forum like these scare me stiff. The growing apathy around the club is desperately worrying.

"I agree good positive support. But we were very quiet in the first half! I was disappointed with the Accy turnout I know they don't get many at home but that was poor.

Yeah, it was a rubbish following. Much is made of Accrington's loyal support despite their low numbers, but for so few to travel yesterday must have been a disappointment to their team. -"
