Re: Rotherham ......

Rotherham have stated that they won't go out of business even if a buy doesn't come forward by the deline today, but even so I don't think Stanley have anything to bother about

Press Release | Rotherham United | News | Breaking News | Breaking News

it doesn't say so but the club will see out the season as there are only two weeks left.

The hard part for them and any new buyer will be to continue funding the club over the summer without matchday income.

I really do hope they come out of this okay because it is a horrible thing for any fan to have to face, but, and don't take this way, it does annoy me that clubs are given every chance and then some to avoid the death knell when we had to wrap it up over a summat and nowt. If clubs can't balance the books they should face automatic relegation to a league where they can manage the innies and outies of day to day accountancy.

Re: Rotherham ......

According to teletext this morning the buyers lined up for Rotherham have pulled out, it says they are on the verge of extinction and could be forced to close immediately, surely they can make it to the end of the season though - here's hoping they do or we lose 3 points and could be dragged right back into the relegation battle.

Re: Rotherham ......

Surely, even if this does happen, we'd be safe anyway. We'd be down to 45 points, but Wrexham can only get a maximum of 43 points. But, because the Football League would be one club short, there would only be one club going down. So, we've nothing to worry about...have we?

Re: Rotherham ......

this is where common sense should come in. With only one week to go until the end of the season they should be allowed, one way or another to complete their fixtures. If the players won't play cos they haven't been paid then get some local kids in or summat.

I would think the PFa would pay the players wages but it's the other expenses that would be a problem whereby suppliers have a good idea they wouldn't get paid.

I thought they had around 5 enquiries to buy the club ?

Re: Rotherham ......

Apparently they did have 5 bidders but according to Rotherham's website, their administrators have received a demand from the current landlord of the ground that whoever buys the club has to guarantee that he will get certain benefits including free tickets, free advertising, free use of the clubs physio etc whether the club stays at Millmoor or not and this is what has caused the bidders to pull out.

Wish them well.

They ended our relegation uncertainty earlier than we were able to ourselves.

"Rotherham United face immediate closure following an ultimatum from the Millmoor landlords, the Booth family.
They have threatened court action to prevent the sale of the club unless their existing privileges are retained.
Rotherham United's chief operating officer Paul Douglas has told BBC Radio Sheffield their terms are scaring off new owners." from the BBC
BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | Rotherham Utd | Booth threat could close Millers

"The Booths' privileges include Ken Booth as honorary president, two directors box tickets to every away game, four tickets to the Millmoor boardroom and car park, 16 seats in the Millmoor End stand which they can sell on, four FA Cup Final tickets at no cost and the use of the club's physio up to three times a week."

How can people be so greedy, this family are only in it for themselves, what about the thousands of genuine fans, who are seeing their club killed off. This is an absolute disgrace.
