Well said Macca. As I have mentioned before, I don't think he has ever shown us the true Craney since his comeback game away at Bury, I think , his 2nd comeback, when he was on fire. I wish it were otherwise, but I seriously doubt that he is capable of reaching that level ever again.

Agreed. I think he looks like being our best keeper since Elliot, including Kenny Arthur. I don't think any keeper in the world would have saved Gillingham's penalty.

The Rotherham manager was on Radio Sheffield previewing the match.

He gave a marvellous warm glowing tribute to John Coleman, his players and the club and its supporters and a very astute analysis as to what makes Stanley special.

I heard it in the build up after 7 but if you get the chance to hear it in an iplayer "listen again" of their main footie programme between 6 and 7 its well worth a listen.

well my thoughts- watched a good game wi 2 good sides tonight, n Rotherham should be there at the death this season, no complaints about result, though stanley could have nicked it at the death wi Craney clear in box screaming fer a ball that never came, only grumble- cowshed liner had the vision of "Stevie Wonder" missed far to many things, balls outa play, handball in box which was right in front of him,complete useless cretin. Stanley will climb this league i have no doubt, also not a dirty tackle in the game, well done both sides.

Who said anything about sympathy? In my opinion Bavs deserves a start. I'm not convinced that Murdoch is any better than Dunbavin, let alone better than Cisak as some on here feel. I don't think there's a clear number one/number two situation like you do. But that's cool, it's all about opinions. I don't try to push my opinions forward as facts.

Strange game tonight. Thought we were outplayed by a better team for the vast majority of the match, but we seemed to be the ones making the better & clearer chances. Very odd. The draw was a fair result in the end.

Onto individuals, McIntyre is ok going forward but a liability at the back. Would much prefer Deano on the left and Murph at right back; I'm not convinced by his efforts in midfield though he did work very hard. For me, we need Craney back in that team asap as we don't have a creative force in the attacking four players. Credit to Podge & Wes for conjuring chances out of scraps but we'd be much more lethal with healthy service for them. Deano & Joycey reliable as ever, Fletcher a class above.

Like the little I've seen of Murdock, but keeping is all about consistency and he hasn't achieved that yet. The potential is there but he has some way to go to get to Kenny Arthur's level for us yet. Fingers crossed but lets not get too carried away, a few saves for the cameras are sod all use if he makes a significant mistake every game. Not getting on his back, think he's a great signing, but plenty of work yet needed and to compare him to KA is a little premature

Put it this way regarding keepers, "Keep The Faith" n Meself were in the Shrewsbury supporters bar outside their ground last season, we were nattering to a bunch of em, they said "Ask Coley to play Dunbavin please, i will let shaker guess the reason they gave us.

surely most folk can't be wrong?

though i agree wi shaker regarding Mcintyre defending.

I'll take others opinions on his shot stopping but on the two occasions I've seen him so far I've thought his distribution to be poor. Last night he twice gave to a nearby defender who was immediately under pressure, hospital balls?

Decent command of his area though.

As for the game itself, I was pleased with a point.

Rotherham are a very good side and will be in the top 3 come the end of the season.

Thought there number 23 up front looked class, mcintyre had a nightmare against him all game. I do believe that is our weak link at the moment unfortunately.

If only coid and leam could be relied on week in week out!

Special mention for buzzer and the pitch, which again was magnificent considering the weather.

Roll on Saturday.

I agree on the main with Shaker, Rotherham were probably the better side for a large part of the game yet the better chances fell to Stanley. Based on last nights match Rotherham will be up there, which should also suggest Stanley won't be a million miles away.

Agree with Shaker and Smudgie. What nobody has mentioned is what a big, physical side Rotherham are. Every one of their players must have been over 6 feet tall, some well over, and with pace to burn. At half time I would have been happy with a point, but at the final whistle I thought we almost deserved to nick it. What we lack in inches the lads more than made up for in heart and aggression, Coley having worked his half time magic yet again. A smashing performance by the lads and a great game to watch. Gutted to miss this Saturday's game, but it's no.1 son's 40th. birthday celebration up on Tyneside.
