Re: rovers games / two games
Sat amongst the Rovers fans last year at Morecambe no problem when we played them pre-season at the Globe.

Re: rovers games / two games
Well my 1st game of pre-season and I must admit im massively pleased
Thought we bossed the second half which was great to see, Hatfield in particular looked like he was controlling the Midfield.
As for the new lads, Number 13 (Eckersley) I think, looks the real deal to me at center back, and would be a huge asset to the squad. Toto looks stronger and fitter than last season, and was my M.O.M.
Thought Miller had a good game in the middle of the park, nice to have some competition for places.
After watching that all we a short of is a striker and dare I say it a keeper, (though Bav's looked pretty solid) surely we cant go into a season with only 1 senior man between the sticks??
As for the Rovers fans, a small section = Absolute disgrace.

Re: rovers games / two games
I think Cooky will be quietly pleased with this afternoon's performance, and we the fans can be excused for feeling a buzz of excitement for the coming season. I struggled to put a name to many of the new faces but was very impressed by most of the many lads who wore the shirt. Great to see them having a real go in the second half with some nice passing football, building moves impressively with both full backs giving the attacks superb width. I know it's only a friendly, but surely the Rovers fans would have been concerned with the lack of fight and leadership from their lot. They are going to have to up their game a heck of a lot if they are going to even survive in the Championship. As for us, we are going to have much harder games against the tougher Div 2 outfits than we faced with Kean's half-hearted strollers today. Chant of the day from the Rovers fans - "If Burnley beat us, you're blooming dead", or words to that effect!

Re: rovers games / two games
Decent afternoon in the Sun, Crown Pub looking smarter inside, Pumps on behind the Clayton End good stuff.
Thought Rovers fans were amusing with their songs and banter it must be difficult and a bitter pill to swallow watching their side and the well documented things that have gone on.
It was a decent warm up match and gave us the supporters a few glimpses of some of the new signings and things look okay, first half Rovers probably shaded it but the only real stand out was Dunny as for Stanley the back four looked solid, midfield struggled a little bit whilst Carver did well with his hold up play.
Second half brought a few changes and I thought more mobility for Stanley especially in the middle of the park thought the number 20 for Stanley Brian Smikle looked to have a good touch and got his goal whilst Gray looks like he could be a good aquasition.
Very enjoyable afternoon plenty of competition in the middle of the park for places but like Smudgie just need another Keeper and at least another striker as well as Gray.

You really have to wonder if a football manager is just totally arrogant or totally stupid to work surrounding himself by a mini army of henchmen.
I was only there for the last 20 minutes but I must admit I was shocked by what I saw surrounding Kean. I've seen some unpopular managers in football but none of them have ever had to go to the lengths he has to stay in the job. Amazing !!!!
They even pulled the coach right up to the players gate after the match

That is very poor on the Stanley management part.

Redash, Rovers played Man City back in1969 in the F.A. Cup and City got the then home end, the Darwen End. Since then the Blackburn End has been the home end.
City won that game 4-1 and went on to win the cup. The Rovers goal was the only one City conceded on the way to winning the Cup. Jim Fryatt scored the goal.

What upset you, Smudgie? It seemed a good natured occasion to me, apart from the justifiable bile directed at Steve Kean.

Just their whole attitude in general, felt sorry for their young lads and new signings to be honest.
