Royalty question
I was in my usual LPG filling station (Holy tree farm shop, knutsford, just off J19 M6) and she sells allsorts of stuff including microbrewery beer. I noticed an "Accrington Stanley" ale from a brewery in Gt Harwood.(Red Rose Brewery)
Is the club aware? is there any 'copyright' on the name that needs enforcing/financial arrangement?
I just thought I'd let people know in case it wasn't common knowledge

Re: Royalty question
looking at the website they dont have an image for the beer label so maybe they dont have permission but using the words Accrington Stanley constitutes no law fudging? The truth will out, and it aint grassing its interest protection

Re: Royalty question
He has been brewing this for some time now & I let Rob know last year when it first appeared in case it would be sold in the club house as a better offering than the lame gnats*** offered under the Stanley name. Its a nice tasting beer & a visit to the Royal in Gt Harwood is well reccomended for a taste of some proper real ale than the chemical fizz larger breweries charge an arm & a leg for. He runs a good beer festival in the late summer too!

Further to the Accy booze story, and speaking of stories,my 7 year old came home from the library a couple of weeks ago with 2 Accrington Stanley books(kids story )about some dog or fella( named Accrington Stanley) that goes from a dickhead type to a hero by eating tripe or something.Anyone spotted those about?

Re: Royalty question
That sounds vaguely familiar.
Do you remember the cartoon that used to be in the Observer - 'Stan Accy and the Wizzard of Ossy'?
