To be fair I think the rumour is far fetched. I can't see a Spanish scout having been over to look at Jimmy...

Totally agree. I also think that Jimmy would be far out of his depth playing in the Spanish League.

Wasn't that related to the transfer falling through a loophole because his age was between 23 and 24? Jimmy's 22 so presumably that wouldn't apply.

Jimmy isn't going to Real Zaragoza anyway so it doesn't really make much difference. The highest he will go, if he goes, is Championship and I don't think that he is good enough for that level at the moment.

Re: Ryan Set For Dream Move

I dont think jimmy would be out of his depth as spanish football is a lot slower but more technical, which is jimmys strength.
Remember watchin a game around 3 years ago at Northwich vics ground between man utd and blackburn resis, and among the scouts were two from Barcelona ! .
They had come to watch Piquet(who was crap and was subbed),the rest is history.

To be fair Zagortha are towards the bottom of La Liga and it is a weak league towards the bottom.

Look at Jay Spearing at Liverpool, there aint much between him and Jimmy, I reckon he could do a job in Spainish football.

Meanwhile, all three of Jimmy's goals on Saturday are in 'League 2 in 90 seconds'
under 'Latest video and audio highlights' on BBC football.

Jimmy would look far better if we had a nice big stadium with a good viewing angle for the camera. Few goals ever look good at The Crown due to the rubbish angles. I remember Paul Mullin banging one over the keepers head at Port Vale a few seasons back, it looked a belter on the replay but was no better than what you see week in week out at The Crown

Re: Ryan Set For Dream Move

Jimmy has been great for Stanley as Stanley has for him

Also Bear in mind we actually picked him up from Shrewsbury

As Dave points out earlier in the thread it is something we will have to become accustomed to as fans when you have a successful team meadia attention follows.

For the moment there is one focus and that is the play-offs

Re: Ryan Set For Dream Move

Considering some of the millions paid for the likes of Torres and his replacement Carroll at Liverpool then Jimmy could be worth a few million too. Of course he is unproven at higher levels but I think that he and several other of our boys at Stanley are absolutely priceless. Let's break the "Selling on" trend and keep our players and just see what we can achieve!! Look how far we have come in the last ten years or so. Some people are describing Stanley's rise as a fairy story but in truth it is a story of dedication, hard work and teamwork against all the odds. Long may our story continue, especially now as we finally seem to be entering a period of financial transparency and off the field stability. Come on you REDS!!
