Ryan Set For Dream Move

From the BBC's gossip column:

Accrington midfielder Jimmy Ryan is in line for a dream move from the League Two club to Spanish side Real Zaragoza. (The Sun)

Re: Ryan Set For Dream Move

Just read it now.

Would obviously be devastating but nobody could stop that

And from the Telegraph

Quote:
ROB Heys has heaped praise on boss John Coleman after Accrington Stanley reached the League Two play-offs – and the chief executive hopes the club can continue to stave off interest in their manager with Port Vale the latest club to plan an approach.
Welcome to the world of successful football

Re: Ryan Set For Dream Move

We would get nothing for him. No contract and was trained at Liverpool.

Re: Ryan Set For Dream Move

I would have thought Jimmy's dream move would have been back to Anfield, but this is the Sun

I'm usre Stanley will be classed as contributing to his development and still recieve something

Under the bosman ruling we would get something for him as he is Under 24. All that is required is we offer him a contract of equal or better terms to his existing deal.

Re: Ryan Set For Dream Move

he has been with us for 3 years and is a virtual ever present. That would class as more than contributing to his development. If he is clasped as good enough for La Liga then we are in for a bumper payment. By the way, the rumour at the awards night (over heard players) was that West Ham were in for him

Re: Ryan Set For Dream Move

This publicity is normally generated by players agents to get clubs looking and hopefully a lucrative contract.
To be fair to Jimmy,I have said all along he should be playing at an higher level (championship),and was a far better player than Grant.
I have never seen him give less than 110% on a football field, but hope Acci get in the 1st Division and retain his services for another season at least.

Don't think that we would get anything for him as he is out of contract and would be going to a different country under different FA rules. If he moved to a club in England then we would get a fee for him as we did for Bobby Grant.

Re: Ryan Set For Dream Move

Pretty sure the Bosman ruling is throughout Europe - didn't it start from a case between Belgian and Dutch teams ?

Re: Ryan Set For Dream Move

includes all EU countries. There is a further ruling which includes all ACP (whatever they are) countries that have an associate trading relationship with an EU country.
