Saturday

Posting to say what a fantastic afternoon we had at your place. Aside from the result, it was the game at it's best. Good honest football, a great advert for any league, let alone the Conference.
Crowd banter was given and received in the manner that it should be, a bit of fun.
Most of all, I've never witnessed the home fans applauding the away team off the pitch at the end of a league match before, even applauding us (which was heartily returned) over the wall of the Accrington Terrace.
Gentlemen (and ladies of course) you are a credit to your club and non-league football (but not for much longer!).
Best of luck in the League next year, it's about time you started where you left off 40-odd years ago.
Hopefully we'll be joining you via the 'back-door' and looking forward to the return meetings!
The Grays 69!

The reception at Grays for everyone connected with Stanley was second to none. Everyone I've spoken to has had nothing but praise for your club.
It was a pleasure to return the good spirits.

Re: Saturday

Hope Grays get into the playoff final with Morecambe.

When we beat you at your place you clapped us after taking your record away from you, when many teams in this league would have chucked thier toys out of thier prams.

i personally beileve that you was the better team on saturday, and nice of your keeper to wish us the best of luck in the league wheni can think of a few that wouldnt have Cough tony roberts Cough

good luck for the playoffs

Re: Saturday

Excellent game with just about the right result imho. Pre-season I had a bet Grays would win the league. I'm glad things turned out as they have but there's no doubt you have a first-class side and supporters to match. I hope you win the play-offs rather than the likes of Morecambe whose team and supporters are a disagreeable bunch of sad wannabees who are notgoodenoughs! Mind you, they might not even reach the play-offs and save themselves the embarrassment of yet another failure.

I think you might be in a minority there. There are quite a number of Accrington fans coming to stand in the North Stand and cheer against Hereford.
Also where would you rather travel to , Morecambe or Grays? And did Grays bring 400+ to Accrington?

No I'm with qualtrough on this, hope they beat the Welsh sheepshaggers but really a bunch of no hopers with little or no ambition, Halifax or Grays to go up with us.

Glad you enjoyed it, I did too, apart from the result. As for play offs, good luck, I can't see the other three matching you if you can play like that.

Re: Saturday

I don't know how many Grays brought but it was a good few (excellently behaved) supporters and a damn good team. Hopefully, the clubs in League 2 will bring a good few more than Morecambe! If Morecambe do reach the play-offs and have to play Grays at some stage start praying for a miracle Morecambe red-faced.

well we have only ever played Grays once and it was a 3-0 win to the Shrimps and could have been 6 as their manager conceded.
