Dunno, Mab, it doesn't say...
Save our Stanley
Monday 14th Sep 2009
Fundraising round up
Friday evening’s match against Darlington brought in around £18,000 for the Save our Stanley fund, taking the total now to just over £75,000.
Speaking about the figure Stanley chairman David O’Neill said “It is very encouraging to have brought in so much in the first few days of our campaign, and we would like to thank everyone that has got behind us over the last week or so. There is a long way to go but it is great to know that we are not alone and that there is strong support for Accrington Stanley.”
The fundraising match at Burnley last week brought in £35,000, with the remainder made up of our very well supported bucket collections and individual donations either through the website or from people calling into the club.
David continued “The generosity of the people who have come to the club with their donations has astounded us, we have had a cheque for £5,000 from an anonymous donor, and a gentleman brought in £1,000 cash to help the club on Friday night. And I think that one story that has touched everyone’s hearts is young Hannah who brought in and emptied her piggy bank to help her local football club. We will never forget the help we have received, and as a club we must make sure that we repay the faith shown in us.”
Details of the next round of fundraising activities will be announced shortly.

I wouldn't think so, because if we only made £18,000 from a gate of 3200 with everybody working for nothing, some season ticket holders paying at the gate, nearly £500 from the 50/50 draw, plus bucket collections and donations, I am afraid that we are going to be in a mess. If the £18,000 figure DOES include everything then with our usual gate being half of Friday's the maximum we would make on a normal home game would be £8,000. We have 19 home league games left so we would only be generating a maximum £152,000 income from the gate money.

Re: "Save Our Stanley"
We can't put all the gate money into the SOS fund. How would wages be paid if we did? I know people gave up a day's wages on Friday and maybe this might happen again but we can't expect them to work for nothing for the rest of the week.

So YES we can put all the gate money into the SOS fund.

Harsh Mr. God; harsh.....
Maybe they can't add the wage donations until they put the wages up at the end of the week.....

Re: "Save Our Stanley"
You don't need an accountancy degree to work out that an attendance of 3228 producing gate receipts of £14184 is equivalent to each paying customer spending £4.39 on the gate each.
Even if at the most 1000 of those fans were season ticket holders or freebies it would create an average spend of £6.37 each for paying customers (which we are).
An adult ticket costs £13. Unless 1750 of the fans were under 16s. You do the maths.
Something just doesn't add up!!!

True......
Polite Request…
Could Rob or someone in authority just give us a quick answer to the gate receipts question and how the SOS donation of gate fee’s and the wages contribution breaks’ down.
We’re a couple of weeks in to this situation with the SOS battle to stave off the Excise man; is there any chance of having a forum Q&A session in the former format that we use to have; maybe limited to 2 or 3 questions per supporter…….
I know there was the Fans Forum and there have been media releases; but not every question is asked or answered.
