The usual procedure is an emergency ticket for the first game posted the day before the first home match, followed by the full season ticket before the next home game. Too early to panic yet.

Oh, and I'm not shocked by the last bit.

Re: Season ticket anybody?

While we're on about season tickets today's Daily Telegraph had a nice tidbit.

Tickets for the Wigan v. Utd game are on e-bay at £450, but Wigan season tickets are still on sale at £250.
Selling like pies, apparently.

Well if 48hour orders arrive in august I guess I should stop waiting for my 7-10 days order I placed with the club shop on the 15th April, should be with me in about 2010?

Looks like some things never change. I'd give them a call Gaz and see what's going on. That's assuming that someone answers the phone.

To be fair, the 48 hours rule isn't applicable with season tickets anyway. I would imagine that most clubs haven't even printed, yet alone sent out their season tickets. The club probably leave it until late so they have an idea of how many to print up in one batch, thus making it cheaper. It would be nice to have them before the first home match next season, though.

However, if you've ordered merchandise, the 48 hours rule should apply and, as TM says, you should give them a ring...and keep on ringing until you get an answer!!
