I read that too and thought it was a bit high unless you include the free under 12's promotion, we never sold 500 last season.

Re: Season Ticket Sales
If it's true, then it's great news! Should see some bigger gates next season.

Re: Season Ticket Sales
I read the sesaon ticket sales were also around that 500, mark I think some of this is down to clever marketing by the club with the under 12s going free and dragging adults along too. I still feel if the club offered payment by standing order or direct debit over a period of months and advertised the fact and also made the season tickets for the under 16s slightly cheaper there could be even more potential to add perhaps another few hundred to that figure.

I have to say as an outsider I find the charge on the 12-16 age group slightly strange. Given the generations of fans who the club lost, are they not a generation they should be encouraging more as well as the under 12's ?

Re: Season Ticket Sales
As soon as child get 12 then unless very seriously passionate about going then that will waiver off considerably, at the end of the day 12-16 are difficult to attract & the club need to look at that angle.

Accy Stanley - Clever Marketing - No
OSC - Clever Marketing - Yes even though I think the Stanleys' brand will not be a bestseller.

HR I really want it to sell after all the hard work by so few but I've seen it before where there is an early rush then it drys up.

Re: Season Ticket Sales
So, Bagpuss, to summarise, you're sceptical about the season ticket figures, you don't think the new merchandise range will be successful (oh yes, and you don't seem too happy about the club leasing the Crown, either). I take it you subscribe to the "half a glass empty" philosophy on life!

I must stop listening to The Smiths.
Don't forget that hideous statue, I always like to give a different view than the yes men, life is not always roses.
