According to their official site, Bury have terminated the contracts of their manager, Chris Casper, and director of football, Keith Alexander.

Because "they have lost the support of the majority of the fans" - certainly the majority of their message-boarders. Hopefully Eric is better at ignoring similar comments on here ..

The "majority" are usually not so, it's just that they manage to make themselves heard unfortunately

As posted on a different thread, went to the F.A. Cup replay v Norwich last night to take in a "live " game, CONGRATULATIONS to all connected with the Shakers on a fine performance and a WELL DESERVED win. (for the benefit of all Shakers fans who drop in to this website)

May 3rd Aside, Good luck to them against Southampton in the 4th round,hope they can sort out the current managerial situation,stop in the league and here's hoping for renewed rivalry in Div 2 next season.

Assuming of course that Coleman & Co can keep us in relative mid table safety , (i.e. We don't get dragged back into that mire, ala Relegation Scrap,especially after despairing results such as last night)

Just wondering if you're still of the same opinion after last night's debacle?

Yup. Still stand by the fact that theres no better man to keep us in the League until the club catches up with the team. Atm we are an NLP club that happens to be playing in the Football League (aint it great). We operate on a budget that many Conference teams would laugh at.

No-one could do the job he has done/will continue to do on his buget.
No-one could do the job as well with the wages we pay (27,000 average compared to 57,000 League 2 average).

This is not "blind faith" as if I believed Coley should go, I would say it. Imho without him wed be like Charlton when they pushed Curbishley out because they were not qualifying for Europe and ended up gettting relegated.

We WILL finish higher then last season, thus showing we are still making progress.

Coleys got us here. He deserves his chance to build a team over a few years. The man should have the Accrington equivalent of a knighthood. And I have no doubt we will continue to progress.

Quite simply I believe if Coley left we would go backwards.

Although I do wish hed give Rocky a rest

Thats the double edge sword really is that a lot of fans are frightened of change, also a bit frightened of not changing as well, for the same reason as before which is the 'history repeating itself' jinx.

We didnt quite expect to go up higher & now we're here we're bloody frightened of dropping out again after all that hard work. Tho i do think coley cant do any more tho & there is too much expectation upon him to wield his magic any further cos he cant live upto it & at some point the fear will come back even with coley & co in charge cos the magic will have been lost & we fall from the great height again, then wonder why the hell we didnt consider options & push stanley on while we're still here & have the chance.

IMO Coley builds his teams to be teams with Iron Will, great comaraderie and an element of skill. He builds teams to be better than the opposition at getting in amongst 'em. He relies on his powers of persuasion and the loyalty instilled in his players by sticking with them when things aren't going so well. For six or seven years we have known nothing but success so any rocky (no pun intended)patches have not shown up the long term defficiences in tactics. This year and last year to an extent we have struggled with the increased pace and skill, and also with the fact that in the big boys league we cannot get away with defensive naivety.

When a manager who has got little tactical or coaching ability starts to lose his motivational qualities then there is a problem. Nobody on here knows that Coley has lost the dressing room or not, what I do know is that to have the highest goals conceded column two years running is indicative of a problem. Is it personnel or is it tactics?

I really like Coleman and sincerely hope he, and Stanley come through. We will head downwards if he was to go, half the team would go as well and we don't have the money or replace either.

Come on Coley, many still believe and those that don't, want to.

Alvin's spot on. The club has got to catch up with the team's position in the pyramid. If the team got any higher at this stage, the club's task would become even more difficult. JC got us here, and has kept us here for a season and a half, despite totally inadequate resources and support. He has proved he can do it, and even if it turns out he can't repeat the miracle this season, the chances of getting hold of someone who could do better given the constraints are, imho, vanishingly small.

Keep the faith, and enjoy the moment.
