Share Issue Framed Shirt

Did anybody take this £50 option?
I did, collected the framed shirt on Friday.
It was in a £16.99 frame from Ikea, not mounted - just led behind the glass and not even straight, the shirt is still full of packing creases and looks like a 4 year old child had done it . . . . . . What should I be expecting for £50 ???

I will be ringing the club Monday and getting my £50 back and paying to have it mounted professionally.

Why is it that all the hardwork is done by the lads on the pitch and well supported by all the fans and when it comes to people wanting to invest money in the club everything seems to be done on a shoe string.

Re: Share Issue Framed Shirt

Do you not think this just shows the type of club accrington stanley is .. it is run by unprofessional people who have not a clue at customer service or getting it right.. you are right the players are pulling there tripe out but the club has too many people who think they know how to run a business if they were self employed they would not earn anything as they would never get any repeat business

if the club wants to portray a professional image then they should get professional people to sort it our it would cost less in the long run ..

getting cheap labour to do a professional job is stupid and not cost effective in the long run you only have one chance to make a first impression and do it wrong and every one tels each other if they want investment into the club which you have clearly offered they should address there service levels to you the supporter

Re: Share Issue Framed Shirt

At least you got a shirt. I'm still waiting for a reply to an email sent 15 December asking [1] whether Bronze option was still available and [2] who to make cheque out to. Must be trickier questions than I'd imagined.

I thought the whole idea of this was to make money for the club. Maybe they should have sent it out in kit form and you put the shirt in the frame yourself to save and therefore make more money for the club.

It has been mentioned before that anyone thinking they are getting good value for money is in cloud cuckoo land, only buy them if you want to help the club.

Question Re: Share Issue Framed Shirt

The club, have a framed shirt for every home match - sponsor or something? - so somebody must do that, plus the ones that I have seen on matchday, look OK! Why not use the same person?

The quality of the frame I got with my signed shirt back in May at my Stanley stag do was pretty apalling to be honest, looked like it was bought from a pound shop and put together by nusery kids. Still love it though!!!

Re: Share Issue Framed Shirt

Ticker has valid points.

Sorry Neil but I totally disagree with your reply.

Accrington Stanley FC is a business it's not just about how loud the fans sing on the terraces or how many goals they put in the back of the net.
The whole reason for the share issue scheme being introduced in the first place was due to the lack of professionalism at company level.
Reputation is paramount for a business, a good service will get repeat business. I bought the framed shirt and share for my son.
We had another son 6th Jan this year. Do you think I will be buying him a framed shirt and a share . . . . . . See my point now?

I have decided not to complain to ASFC about the situation but just get it framed myself at a loss of £50 to myself. I follow ASFC and will still continue to do so. I am just venting my frustration on how fans are treated when putting money in the direction of the club and at a time when it really mattered.
One of the share packages cost £1000. Can you imagine as a company director paying for that and then getting the service I got ??? Clubs that probaly pay for sponsership around the ground etc.

Directors of the club visit this site, I have full confidence that one inparticular will pass a proffesional view on this thread on behalf of ASFC.

A letter to them might still improve the quality of how it is put together, even if you do not go & ask for a refund.

A valid point Matt.
Feedback is important, if there are unaware of the the problems how can they make changes to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Re: Share Issue Framed Shirt

like i said the people who are supposed to be running the club are not doing so with their own money and if they were they would have more respect for others and customers and loyal fans

i have been in business as a self employed person and now as a company director and there is no difference as far as im concerned you never get a second chance to make a first impression so come on get a grip people keep telling me how good the new guy is running the shop (lewis) he should make a big entrance and completely overall the shop and the presentation of the web site selling goods is imperative for the good of the club how do you think Manchester united have such a large turnover in their business .... its through merchandising ... yes i know theres a differenc in clubs but the proceedure is the same

come on stanley get the right people in place to help ... one guy always told me in business "give a little and you will get a hell of alot back" and it sure makes sense and has done me no harm in my businesses

Been banging on about this for years, mate. Here's what I said in the late, lamented "There's No F In Roof"

Way back in the wilderness years, occasional “Where are they now?” type articles about Stanley used to appear in the national press from time to time. One such piece contained the following somewhat cryptic quote, “Accrington Stanley are the Manchester United of the working classes.”

No, I don’t understand it either. However, there is one parallel that can be drawn between the two clubs. They are both footballing institutions and, as such, their merchandise is highly marketable, even to those who are not active supporters of the club. Obviously, this demand is on a much greater scale with United and they have responded by developing a well-appointed superstore at Old Trafford, backed up by a slick worldwide marketing operation.

It’s high time that Stanley did the same, albeit on a smaller scale, in order to really reap the benefit from being “one of football’s most famous names.”

...and I was writing much the same in the equally-late lamented "The Barber's Pole" around 15 years ago! Sadly, it's always fallen on deaf ears. Hopefully, at long last, things will start changing under Lew!

Not sure about the big entrance but he has overalled the shop. I got a tour this morning while I was dropping off a wheel barrow ( No they aren't selling wheelbarrow's ) I think given time you will see a major change.
