I am a little surprised that people seem to have got into a comfort zone and are happy to accept our lot. I do live in the real world, with a club brand as strong as Stanley we should market it better. There is a lot we can do via the supporters club. None of us should be happy at having the lowest gates in the league.

I think you misunderstood, when I said punching above our weight I meant financially not footballing wise. As Cashy has said, no-one could be happy with our gates & yes if we had a good cup run or a fantastic run in the league we probably would have a few more through the gate but, as has happened in the past, once the run is over how many would come back & stick with the team through thick & thin.
You're preaching to the converted on here Chris & the one thing I agree with you on is that the Stanley name (please don't call it a brand) could be marketed better if we had more resources - bit of a chicken & the egg situation - but I think that all who work for the club, paid & volunteers alike do a damn good job most of the time given our limited finances

two things we need next season is a decent start to the season and a good cup run. the johnstons paint trophy seems to be of secondary importance to us but even Accrington area football fans would be excited by a Wembley visit. I know most would not come back but if we kept say 200 regulars it would be massive for us. if we have to play catch up again in the league its not easy to get people out of the house on a cold wet Friday night or Saturday afternoon but supporting a team is habbit forming and I can understand why people don't turn up.

Re: Signings.
Sounds like another of Coley's young 'uns hungry for action. Much better than signing former players that have gone off the boil.

Agree and reading all about him if he hits the ground running could be our 20+ goal getter which if it happens will create interest from elsewere could be along with Windass a potential money earner for the club here,s hoping for a good upcoming season.

Re: Signings.
But on the other hand can we afford to be tied in to a longer deal in case for any reason it doesn't work out? Maybe best to see how the lad does in first half of season & then look at extending his contract if everything's going ok
