Re: Sin bins

Most of these innovations do not get rolled out from experience. Here are a few from the 1980s from the pyramid:

2 points for home win 3 points for away win
Offside if closer to the goal line than 3 defenders - no one scored
Kick-ins replacing throw ins (no offside either) - killed the game with everything launched into the box with tallest players picked.

Even the moving the ball forward for dissent which did make it didn't last very long.

Re: Sin bins

In the over 50s and over 60s leagues we have had the 10 min sin bin for several years, helps to calm things down with the old farts but in a game which is for $$$ promotion etc I think it will put a lot more pressure on the refs who can't handle the existing pressures they have to deal with. Can't remember it happening over here but what happens if the goalie is sent off?

‪ should have started at the top and then gone down eventually to local football. can see a lot more problems for a sunday league ref who hasn,t any assistants to have to keep checking his watch especially if more than one is sin binned a few mins. apart. may lead to more problems for dissent than already exist. 10 mins rest and no fine for a start. plenty of other problems come to mind as well.

Re: Sin bins

a sin bin is a great idea. An early sending off (as happened a couple of times last year) often ruins the game.
