Smith out on loan

What's that all about when we have lost Higginbottom and are about to lose Gornell?

I'd say that's exactly it - to get Andy some match practice before we lose the loanees, poor lad looked petrified when he came on against Tranmere.

Re: Smith out on loan

From Clitheroe's site;

Latest Result...Salford City 1 - 1 Clitheroe (UniBond League Division 1 (North))

New signing Jonathan Forbes, Ian Flannery, Jonathan Smith and Conor Kavanagh replaced Joel Pilkington, Paul Osborne, Ollie McGee and Scott Redhead in defence, Dave Hankin, Gary Stopforth and Ridicio King replaced Mark Sharples, Bernard Morley and Matt Edgington in midfield, loan signing Andy Smith replaced suspended Carl Lomax up front.
The Blues put in an improved overall performance but had to rely on a superb set piece delivery to rescue a point at bottom of the table Salford. Three new signings made the starting eleven alongside several players returning after injury including Gary Stopforth who started his first game since 19th August. Clitheroe opened the game brightly and had several good chances towards the end of the first half as Andy Smith saw his close range effort flicked onto the bar, Dave Hankin had a snap shot saved and Neil Rynolds had a blistering drive pushed over for a corner. Clitheroe had much of the second half possession and territorial advantage but fell behind when Danny Toronczak finished from an angle. The Blues continued to press and scored a deserved equaliser when Craig Sargeson fired home a 25 yard free kick that left the home keeper rooted to the spot. They had a great chance to nick all three points when Andy Smith had a strong run through the middle before being tackled and Anthony Johnson latched on to the loose ball to go wide before twisting the ball back across goal only to see it go agonisingly wide of the far post.

Team: Fearon, Forbes, Kavanagh, Flannery, J.Smith, Reynolds (Sharples), Hankin (Sargeson), Stopforth, Johnson, A.Smith, King (Redhead). Subs not used - McGee, Higgins.

Sounds like he did OK
