Songs for the Ultras

I hope im not being over presumptuous but I was thinking maybe we could have a thread where people volunteer some new songs that the Ultras can give consideration to before possibly adding them to their already impressive repertoire???

I would like to get the ball rolling:

Possible song for David Brown

To 'knees up mother Brown'

We've got David Brown
We've got David Brown
We've got David, We've got David
We've got David Brown

One I suggested on another thread the other day

To 'coming round the mountain'

If you want to go to heaven when you die
If you want to go to heaven when you die
You must wear a bright red bonnet(stretch the bonnet bit)
With fcuk the Barrow/Morecambe on it(stretch the 'on it' bit)
If you want to go to heaven when you die

Rom Boco song (originally for Man Utd's Brian Kidd)

Beatles tune, Hello Goodbye is it called?? You know the one.

Eusebio, but I say Boco
Boco, Boco
Eusebio, I say Boco I say Boco.

Could change the Eusebio bit to you say 'anyone whos name ends in o'??

Stanley/Mike Flynn song

Tune 'Follow,Follow,Follow'

Follow, Follow, Follow
Accy Stanley's the team to follow
And no striker we've seen(pronounce 'sin')
Can beat our Mickey Flynn
Cos he's the best centre half we all know

That'll do for your first installment, so are you havin' any of them or what??

Re: Songs for the Ultras

I like the Accrington Riot, but it's a bit too contemporary for most folks, being young at heart and hip I of course know it, but it never seems to take off as much as it could do.

Why not use that old Clash classic White Riot, changing red for white?

'Red riot,
I wanna riot,
red riot,
wanna riot.'

You can repeat for ever, and it'd be great with the drums.

Re: Songs for the Ultras

Its not the chip butty song.. Its you light up my senses..

Well for one thing it aint maggots so will everyone stop singing gallon of maggots Magnet is a beer.. yorkshire I think... maybe should be changed to summat more local but the origins of the song are from Yorkshire (I think) and a lot of clubs.. even prem and coca cola leagues in yorkshire sing it.

We started using it a few years ago.. I remember Bubs and Plum working out the exact wording and giving it ain airing at a Unibond away game.. Bradford Park Avenue Oct 2002.. Although they will tell you they tried it out before that but with little success.

You light up my senses
Like a gallon of Magnet
Like a packet of woodbines
Like a good pinch of snuff

Like a night out in Accy
Like a greasy chip butty

Oh Accrington Stanley
Come thrill me again

Re: Songs for the Ultras

Magnets? Well I never!

It is weird what you think are the lyrics to songs really are. It was only recently that I found out that Alice Cooper sang 'I want to be elected' rather than electric!

Would this work if it was changed to 'I want to be promoted'?

Re: Songs for the Ultras

I was of course refering to the fact that the lyric is repeated infinitum, thus making Magnet plural.
