Re: Sour Grapes

I think Dennis Wise must be related to the plonker who was commentating for Swindon yesterday. He did nothing throughout the first half but slag us off, kept going on about how Swindon couldn't be expected to play free flowing football on such a pitch along with numerous other nasty comments about our club, the pitch - in fact anything related to Stanley. I know they're gonna be biased to their own club but that bloke was a disgrace.

Well he was probably miffed that they did not win and were perhaps outplayed by Stanley (I wasn't at the game so can only go on reports on here and in the League paper today).

Perhaps he has forgotten that the pitch is the same for both sides, and a decent side should be able to perform, regardless of the state of the pitch.

Re: Sour Grapes

The more the opposition moan about our pitch and stadium the more i want it to remain exactly the same. Why should we make coming here a pleasurable experience for them. The Fraser Eagle Stadium is becoming a fortress. People are taking notice and more and more away teams aren't looking forward to coming here, lets keep it that way.

Re: Sour Grapes

Personally (and I do stand to be corrected), I think that the Swindon bubble may have burst already - they are certainly going through a rocky patch with only seven points from a possible 21 in their last seven matches.

Many of the pundits were predicting that they would run away with the division (and maybe Swindon started believing it themselves after their flying start !), but I think Walsall are a better side and would be my favourites to win it (assuming that Stanley don't !! lol ).

Cracking post, and totally true.

Teams aren't supposed to enjoy their trek here, and I've heard even the nicest dressing rooms are mad to be uncomfartable in one way or another all the way to the Prem.

Apparently Middlesboro have funny colored wallpaper that makes the opposition players feel sick, and another Club put the fridge deliberately in front of the Tactics board.

Re: Sour Grapes

Dennis has a short memory, has he forgotten his roots plenty of them on plough lane cabbage patch .i know they were called the crazy gang and he is probably trying to deflect people away from the fact that they are paying a fortune out in wages and are certainly not good enough or adaptable enough to get out of league two.Its time to Wise up Dennis

If the trouble is half as bad as the article sugests the Swindon may be on the way out of pro football. We may not have a stadium and pitch of the standard that DW wants but at least we are financially stable (I hope) at present. I would rather worry about the clubs financial stability at the moment than what other mangers think of our stadium and pitch.
