Re: Spear to make his debut?

it is rare to suffer keeper injuries on the field so I don't see the point of getting an additional keeper just to warm the bench when we are paying Jamo anyway. I'd be more than confident of his abilities for a short period of time, its just that his kicking was woeful. I reckon he's every bit as competent as Bavs as a sub

That's probably why he was playing for the mighty Colwyn Bay.

Now springs the folly of letting Martin Fearon go - I personally think he was a better keeper than Bav's but others may think not.

Exactly, not good enough, but seemingly good enough to be a sub for a Football League team

Re: Spear to make his debut?

a substitute goalkeeper is unlikely to be called on so in general why have three goalkeepers when we can't afford to have four strikers?

Also part of the reason Jamo didn't go full time with us (or anybody else) was the unwillingness to give up a well paid full time job with the addition of a semi pro football wage unless he could earn a higher wage full time with football. That wasn't a slight on his abilities.

As mentioned, i wouldn't be willing to have Jamo as a full time no 1 as I never thought his kicking or distribution was the best, let alone at this level. But, his shot stopping was excellent for the level so would be adequate for this level - short term.

IMHO
