Squires Gate

We're supposed to be playing this lot on Wednesday night. Anyone heard anything about the team we're sending? Is it another youth/YTS game?

Thanks. I'm over in Blackpool on Wednesday and I was going to go to the game, but don't think I'll bother now.

Re: Squires Gate

A mixed side as advertised, with only Carden, Harris, Branch, McEvilly and McGivern that you would call 'first teamers'.

McEvilly played the whole game, didn't score, but did manage to get into a row with a bloke of the Squires Gate bench.

We may have found a new super goalscorer, though...... wait for it..... Jay Harris!! He scored a hat-trick  (I think) Other goal was scored by McGivern.

There was a lad playing in defence who looked ok... no idea who he was. That lad who looks like a tennis player was also there, but failed to impress me again.

Re: Squires Gate

Was a really good game to be honest, didn't think anyone who played had a bad game! And the youth lads who took part really gelled with the first teamers, which was very positive to see. They were getting tonnes of encouragement from the first teamers throughout the game!Lee McEvilly, Leighton Mc Givern, Jay Harris and Paul Carden all stood out, they played really well! And some positives from the youth team lads as well with the lively Chris Turner, Liam O'Connor and Jay Bell all putting in positive performances among many others.Eddie Delaney, the former Stanley Youth team player was playing for Squires Gate and boy did he make is presence felt at times lol! Slightly marred by the ref if I'm honest seemed a little whistle happy!! But you get that sometimes don't you?!? But there are far more positives to come out of the game than negatives!

Good to hear of a decent performance.....after the scotland anticlimax.
Always thought Jay has looked promising, maybe the pressure of a bigger midfield squad will be the making of him???

Re: Squires Gate

Jay is still not shown on the fishy site as available for shirt sponsorship!
I will have to contact the club to enquire why.
