Stanley 10th in Football's 'Over-Achievers' League

...and Morecambe 11th: Doncaster Rovers top football 'over-achievers' league » Communities » 24dash.com.

Apparently, they look at statistics about results, league tables and attendances to rank what has achieved by the 92 league clubs since 1992.

Re: Stanley 10th in Football's 'Over-Achievers' League

how on earth can Aldershot be bigger over acheivers than us? or Carlisle for that matter?

Aldershot have risen quickly through the leagues but have been helped in no small part by starting life at the bottom with crowds above 2000. Throughout the Conference and now they regularly have crowds above 4000 (1000 higher than our record league). Also Carlisle only spent one year outside the FL, and won the COnference with an average of around 7000 gates. They have only risen by one league from their usual bottom tier position!

Recount required please.

Looking at the list they also seem to omit counting how much money a club gets thrown at it.

Put another way , we're the second best 'over achievers' in the North West after Wigan. Does this warrant a blast on the trumpet..?

I have always known I support clubs at the opposite end of the Football League spectrum in terms of relative achievement and numbers through the gate.

To quote the related thread on the Owlszone website "20,000 ave gate after ten years of **** makes me slightly proud".

£27m debt and insufficient surplus income to make serious inroads into it doesn't help.
