Stanley badge collecting

I know that Doug and Bagpuss have an interest in Stanley badge collecting but was wondering whether anybody else on here shares the same interest?

And do any of you have the Badge Directory? I am interested in whats in it but dont want to shell out £25 for an inventory of thousands of badges where only a handful interest me!

And further more if any of you have any badges that you don't really want, please give me a shout as I may be interested in some. Two that REALLY interest me would be these two

if you know of these badges I'd really like to hear from you.

Although I do want to own these (and more) badges, I am particularly interested in getting together some proper pictures of all known badges, and these two I can't find a picture of.

Re: Stanley badge collecting

I'll be there Bob, but if I'm honest I haven't seen any Stanley badges of any note at any of the Collectors Fairs I've been to.

Will still be there desparately clutching my ten pound note though!

Re: Stanley badge collecting

Three badges of note were sold on ebay a couple of weeks ago for hefty sums. All three were old Stanley supporter's club badges.

This one was sold for £360

Re: Stanley badge collecting

that was what reminded me Reamer. Really annoyed me with one of them as I would have missed this months mortgage to get it had I been working! It might possibly have been the only remaining example of that badge and has gone to Russia. It was the first time I, and other known collectors, had seen an actual picture of it. It went for £475. The one you show in your post went for £350 and another from the same seller at the same time for £360. All 3 were expected to go for around £200 but those sums of money were unbelievable. They'd have gone for more as well had I been better off ....

Re: Stanley badge collecting

An eye watering, wallet crushing wedge for three badges. That's one serious collector, assuming the same bod bought 'em all. Puts my tenner for an Accy v Preston program to shame
