Re: STANLEY 'downunder'-2009
Cracking stuff, John. Think we should be sending a scout out there to watch these lads for the future. I'll volunteer!

Re: STANLEY 'downunder'-2009
HN STANLEY.. continued on their winning way with a very hard fought 3-0 win against Maycenvale Mustangs. The score was 0-0 at the break, but a good old fashioned 'tune-up' had us firing on all 8 cylinders in the second spell.Unfortunetly, we are joined at the top by the other Maycenvale outfit-the Hotfoots-who had a 7-2(?) win.we both have a differential of 13.We have a bye next week, then a tourney and in three weeks, the BIG one,vs HN Cyclones, the team that has never lost.

Re: STANLEY 'downunder'-2009
A small bushall of joy regarding the name Stanley...today Havelock Nth Stanley won the 9 a side tourney (5 x 20 minute games) with 1 draw and 4 wins. Its the first silverware for this team so we're all abit 'chuffed'. Next week its the BIG one though, vs HN Cyclones back in the regular league. But I would trade in todays result for victory in that match.
Sorry if the this post offends anyone in relation to events in your part of the world in the last 24 hours. It was not my intention to do so.

Keep it coming Kiwi, you're the only source of Stanley joy at the moment. Can't wait for the headlines 'Cyclones blown away' !

Re: STANLEY 'downunder'-2009
Today was the BIG one, vs HN CYCLONES, the 'never, ever been beaten' team. Well they nearly were. We missed a very good chance midway through the 2nd half, then a 'sitter' right on fulltime. I can't recall them getting a shot on goal. Final score 0-0. Probably a fair result, but I did think we were technicaly (sp) the better team. Another HN team next week-the ACE'S. They are mid table, but there coach is the ex CEO of NZ Football and recently CEO of Sydney FC in the Hyundai 'A'League.Nice bloke.
