Stanley fan punches air at Christie park
Best part of the afternoon, for me, was when they announced the score from Wycombe. A bemused steward gave me an odd smile as I walked out amongst Barnet fans punching the air, but I got a big grin when I said, "Good old Stanley."
Was actually a good afternoon, the Barnet fans made a huge "welcome to the League" banner, and the Morecambe tannoy mentioned Wembley once or twice.
The teams, I wish them both well, but they wouldn't have scored if they were still playing (Blinkhorn and Grazioli both out injured). Morecambe haven't changed much, Twiss may be half a stone lighter but he's a bit older, Baker has skill but his final ball doesn't cut the mustard, plus he tires. Neil Bishop stood out for Barnet, and for a player with no pace whatsoever does the business and protects his back four, plus prompting attacks.
I suspect neither team has strength in depth, and will struggle.
