Re: Stanley Fund Raising

The club needs a sustained investment into the commercial side. One off ideas whether good or bad like this aren't gunna be enough to generate the financial resources that we all wish for.

Get someone in the club with commercial nouse in the football industry. At the moment as I quote a good friend of mine 'we have non football people running a football club'

Stanley Fund Raising

Have the FA approved of this method of commercialism? If not then it's gonna make our situation a whole lot worse!

Shock you're the only one to buy into another one of these top notch ideas. Perhaps you are the genius who keeps making us the usual laughing stock?

Re: Stanley Fund Raising

Would it be possible to purchase a ticket for the replay too?
Sorry, couldn't resist but seriously can the club really not think of anything better?
The only positive that can be taken from this so far is that it has grabbed the attention of a lot of people because it is such a bad idea which in some strange way may increase sales, however, I'm not holding out much hope

Re: Stanley Fund Raising

The idea has certainly generated some (unwarranted) attention on Twitter, it seems the outside world seems to think it was a wind up instead of being a serious idea.

Think it might be better to concentrate on pushing things like Friday night football via marketing and reduced prices to help generate positive Google Page Ranking instead.

There you are, the perfect get-out. Put out a club statement saying it was a joke like the Lancashire Stanley idea. At least that way we can escape with some of our credibility intact!

It's now made the Daily Telegraph. The story calls the press release from Stanley an "extraordinary club statement". You can say that again! Accrington Stanley selling tickets for FA Cup third-round clash against Manchester United that will never happen - Telegraph

Haven't posted in a while...but after seeing this I want to express my utter disgust and contempt for the people responsible for this massive own goal.....

Is it any wonder that fans of other clubs mock us and deride us as " a pub team " as I read many times on opposition websites ???

This debacle only serves to enhance that "reputation" and does even more damage to the already tarnished image of a so called "professional" football club.

Will we ever shake off the tinpot tag ??? With marketing "strategy" like this....I somewhat doubt it.

We just never learn do we ???

As daft of an idea as it appears to most of us, I applaud the club for at least making an effort to generate an income stream that is, to say the least, different. I would sooner see our club trying new ways to get money than sitting on their chuffs navel gazeing.
I sincerely hope they get a few bucks out of it, but sadly, none of it will be mine.

not sure they will ever be of any value on the antiques roadshow but they should be looked at more as a cash contribution to ones beloved club
