Just to let you guys know.............Stanley Ladies lost today and ended up with three players in hospital after a bruising encounter at Curzon Ashton (As I type 2 are still in but are ok.) The pitch that the girls contended with was reminiscent of that of a cheese grater only disguised as plastic 3G grass. Absolutely atrocious, it's a wonder how we finished with 11 girls playing at the end!! Those that did were more like extras from the film 'Saw', they were cut to shreds!! Just horrible!!I'm not knocking Curzon by any means they duly proved why they are favourites to be promoted this season and remain unbeaten thus far. But it just seemed to put a taint on what should have been an entertaining game!! Next up Carleton on Sunday!! Mmmmmmmmmm that'll be fun!! haha. Hopefully with a fully recovered squad!Karen
Our girls are very passionate and play from the heart every time they pull on the Stanley shirt!!! I'm a very, very proud manager after today, no matter the result, they stood up to the task with outside influences playing a major part in the result!! Roll on the Lancashire Cup at the weekend!!
Just to let you know that all the girls are out of hospital as of 7pm tonight!!! They are all in great spirits and want to play on Sunday against Carleton They are a mad bunch haha.
Unfortunately, for a couple of them they are gonna have to remain on the sidelines for the next two months, so they are a bit gutted at the mo, but they are still coming to training and games!! Told you they were mad and keen!!! xxx
