Stanley to benefit from debt?

sounds crazy to even think it as we are still in debt and hoping for the Khan miracle to keep on working, but ,

assuming that the inevitable happens in the very near future and we can get everything in order financially within the next year, do you think that we can benefit from the rest of football going tits up?

This article seems to think the debt bubble is soon going to burst and people will have real problems if things arent got into order. We feel we have problems but in reality our debts are tiny. They only seem bigger because we have never been able to develop any meaningful revenue, as a percentage of our pitiful turnover the debts are large.

But if a club was to hit the wall and crumple would its knock on effect lead to tightening of belts throughout? would it lead to firesales of good players? would it lead to wage scales being balanced more evenly?

Any of those things would really level the playing field as far as we are concerned and if can get our house in order now before Football demands it then we'll be in prime position to benefit - and hopefully propel ourselves higher up the League.

Re: Stanley to benefit from debt?

Sooner or later the bubble has to burst

The cracks have been appearing for a long time, the testing time for the so called big boys in the PL will come next summer with Platini's plan which I think is a good thing

Andrew Warshaw: English spending spree leaves Platini in no doubt who is bottom of Financial Fair Play league

Taking the ruling of the landlady who won her battle against sky what long term effect will that have on football revenues?

The Bundesliga leads the way in terms of how football should be run from the top to the bottom in terms of finance, ticketing prices & fans/community involvement.

Fiscal tightening will effect everything in football from sponsors, tv money, attendances, even simple things that used to be easy to get like credit insurance for companies to use as a back up for trading.

I think ultimately it will lead to a more even playing field for the whole of football which can only be a good thing for the game in general.

For Accy well it's how that develops but top of any lists must be you only spend what you have not what you may have.

Re: Stanley to benefit from debt?

It really is nice to read that Chelsea's debt has been reduced to £70.9 million and today Manchester United had reduced their debt to an eye watering £315 million down 6% and Manchester City have debts of £121 million. £9K and HMRC come running after our bits and pieces stadium - there aving a larf.
