The Stanley Ultras beat Southport fans team 8-2 today at Wilsons.
The conditions were hard to play in at times with the rain belting down but the Ultras showed no sign of weakness and took the lead after 20 seconds when Fearon finished off a good move by slotting the ball in from eight yards with Smiffy providing the through ball. 10 minutes later there was another goal for the Ultras with Fearon scoring to make it 2-0. Shortley after it was 3-0 and Fearon completed his hat trick with a shot going in off the post. There was 1 more goal for the Ultras in the first half when Swiss Tony curled a shot into the top corner. Southport got a late goal to make it 4-1 at half time.
The second half started and the ultras got a 5th when Fearon ran clear and knocked the ball past the keeper. Swiss Tony got his second goal of the game with a neat finish at the back post after Smiffy flicked the ball on. Smiffy then went from provider to scorer when he took the ball past the keeper and slotted it in from a tight angle. Southport got a lucky goal to make it 7-2 after a big deflection taking it past Leybourne in the goals. The ultras capped off a fine performence in the final minutes when Glen Barnes scored a "lucky" volley from 30 yards out.
