Re: Stanley v Brizzell

No the person who needs to go is the one thats holding the club back. Most of you will know that I'm not a coley fan but he isn't the one to blame for this.

Also maybe its time to accept the reason mangy never made it at blackpool, its nothing to do with his ability, there's no doubt the guy can do a job, its his attitude and mouth. Maybe its time for him to be on his way too. And before anyone says he's only young, he's the same age as Boco and Rob Elliot, the difference is immeasurable.

oh and Kimberly clarke before you have a go about how mangy is the best thing this club has got, kiss my backside!!!

Re: Stanley v Brizzell

Andy Mangan - what a bloody plonker! We have 2 fit strikers at the moment so what does he do, gets himself sent off for gobbing off (yet again) at the referee. Now I don't know if his first booking was fair or not cos I wasn't there but he has to learn to keep his mouth shut in those sort of circumstances wether he thinks its unfair or not. His lack of self discipline on the pitch just can not be tolerated, people say he's only young but we have a lot of other young players who don't have fits of petulance like he does. Get it sorted Mangy or ship out!

I wouldnt like to be mangan in the changing room after the game! Does anybody know if he played well today? 3-0 down when he got sent off. Will he be suspended for boxing day? obviously frustrated,, another defeat, tough local derby coming up next. Macclesfield doing well. We need to get out of this rut. Hopefully January will see new additions to the squad and some much needed confidence in the side.

Re: Stanley v Brizzell

I heard from the ground that Mangan was booked for having the ball kicked at him as he retreated 10 yards for a free kick. Referee musta then booked him for saying ow! straight afterwards.

Re: Stanley v Brizzell

Coley has this mentality of I would rather have 3 point s than 1, I think that has to change and we need to start defending the point we kick off with. We need to start the come back by being resolute at the back, tenacious in the middle and sharp up front. Teams now know that they can turn us over, four teams in a row have scored three or more against us and there appears no end in sight. Footy is a funny game though and we could very well win or lose 10 nil on boxing day. Bring back Ollie Parillon!

Re: Stanley v Brizzell

Obviously all our troubles started once we lost Roberts and then losing Craney soon afterwards doubled the issue. Add to that Boco picking up a long term injury and there's not a lot of flair left in the team.

Unfortunately we're now down to the bare bones and if we pick up any more points between now and January we'll be very lucky. Hopefully we'll make a few signings during the transfer window which will allow us to pull away from the relegation zone.

The thing is, the situation with Stanley is always going to be the same. With very low gates we'll always be a selling club, whoever is in charge.

I never expected anything other than a struggle this season, but we're really up against it now. I said this before and nobody really picked up on it, but perhaps Accrington just can't support a full-time club?

Re: Stanley v Brizzell

just back home to swindle.....missed the first goal due to work and traffic
but we played ok for periods especially after the break, but lacked confidence and i have to say pride and passion....this is only the 3rd game ive seen this season watford and torquay being the others.....but the players and bench looked down.
mangan was booked for having the ball deliberately blasted at him while retreating 10 yards..... a bad decision but then it looked like a staright red for whatever he said to the ref.......again a lack of discipline let the rest of the team down. to be honest we were never going to win it when he went off but with 11 players we may have got a goal or two back rather than being stretched and conceding again.
we all need to get behind the team and hopefully a win will restore some confidence, and give us a brighter new year.
some plus points..... jacobson looked useful as did whalley and as usual mullin tried hard all afternoon.

Is it just me or does anyone else think our problems started when we lost Cooky and Dibble?

You may have a point there, its at least worth debating.

I feel our goalkeepers are deffo missing Dibbles input, perhaps the defence/midfield are missing Cooky's?

and it was bloomin cold...

100 embarressed stanley fans who for the most part would ahve gone home at half time if they could.. it was truly hard to watch.... much better second half and even the better team for some periods.. but we didnt look like scoring to be honest

the goaly ran a thirdway up the pitch to take a free kick straight at the back of mangam and then ran to the ref to get him booked.. it was disgusting and mangs let the ref know it was...and got sent off.. thing is there was aminute or two gap betwen the two things... most of the other booking where desperate tackles becuase it was the only way to stop em..

oh and did i mention it was bloomin cold

Why don't you just say it, the person who has done as much as he can but is holding the club back is Eric Whalley who in my opinion is now out of his league. Non league ideas and actions do not work in the Football League so before you take us back to the conference or worse please step down and move aside.

Re: Stanley v Brizzell

Wasn't the greatest game to watch.
Thought Mangan was unlucky to get booked, the keeper just blasted the ball right at him - I'm sure the ref didn't even see it! he had his back turned! How can you book someone for something you didn't see!- Can't excuse answering back though it's never gonna get you anywhere, Mangan talked himself into the changing rooms!
