Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

... on 107 the Bee.

With Adam Alcock and some fool called Jewell. Damn, that's me...

Regular updates throughout the game, and if it goes to extra time and penalties then possibly some more detailed coverage.

All on 107 FM or online at ww.thebee.co.uk from about 7.

Yep thanks a lot for tonights updates Dan, much appreciated. Made some good summaries at the end, 14 games unbeaten, not been beaten since October and not been beaten this year - only even if we are just over 2 weeks into the new year it still sounds good

Re: Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

Just got back from match. Have to give Carshalton players their due they certainly know how to man mark. They kept very tight to our players and to be honest you would never believe they were bottom of conf south material.

Boco was a star when he came on, 30 secs on pitch and lays on for mullins second goal, superb!!! But oh how that ball just trickled over the line...

Big round of applause for the travelling fans, I stayed behind elliots goal in first half and had some great banter with the robin lads.

Ref was a bit whistle happy, but certainly not card happy as I don't think he reached for them once... but the liner, now thats a different matter and when carshalton's no 4 managed to whack him with the ball a big round of applause rose from the stanley end

All in all an ok match but nothing to get too excited about.. but disappointed with charging full price on the gate!

Anyway 3rd round here we come at home - 4th feb

Re: Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

My M.O.M was Craney - super skills especially when beating 2 men before having his legs taken away for the penalty. His face was a picture when he thought he was being subbed - the official got his number 9 upside down! Well done Carshalton for a battling performance without any end product, as I don't think our goalie had to make a save of note. Their number 5 gave a good impression of Franz Beckenbauer in his prime.
We'll have to be much more clinical in the final third on Saturday, though.

...against Worksop who, according to their message board, beat Weston 2-1 tonight. Does anyone remember the two 5-0 games against them just a few seasons ago?

Been back ten minutes, nice match, excellent night. Carshalton brought some really decent fans, all credit to them, excellent banter and a pleasure to stand with them. Have a safe journey home.

Just back meself. Sorry harwood red you got it wrong bout the cards, Carshalton No 6 was shown a yellow in the second half, other than that, good match, great result, pity only 556 could be bothered to turn up. Thank goodness we have signed Phil Edwards, otherwise Paul Jewell might want him back with the shortage of players that Wigan have at this time. Keep up the workrate and we should have no problems with winning the league and possibly cup double.

P.S. Do believe we were quoted as probable champions in the NLP a couple of weeks ago (as a good bet). Laughed it off then, but maybe not now, bet our price is shorteneing every week

Re: Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

and he did a rather funny westlife dance routine when signalling a throw in! quality!

think he was the fairest ref we'd had in a while, let the game flow even if the carshalton midfield didnt.
