Stanley Worry!!!

As the new season is only a couple of weeks away I am becoming a little concerned about the lack of quality signings for the reds.

Also many crowd favourites have left the club for a variety of reasons and in my opinion we may struggle this season unless action is taken soon.

A little thought for you- If this team (ex-reds) turned up at the Interlink Stadium for a game against Stanley this week, who would win?

1 Jamie Speare
2 Steve Hollis
3 Stuart Bimson
4 Steve Halford
5 Jon Smith
6 Steve Flitcroft
7 Dean Calcutt
8 Andy Gouck
9 Lee Mcevilly
10 Lutel James
11 Rory Prendergast

Re: Stanley Worry!!!

I hope Rob is right and the team has evolved. Nobody wants Stanley to do well more than me.

...and me! I can see what Rob means when he lists the team. Some very talented players there. Yet somehow, they don't seem to have gelled together yet. Hopefully, it'll all fall into place against Wigan!

Coley hasn't finished yet either. He wants two or three more signings with one or two on trial next Wed against Wigan. By the way welcome back to old ground for Brett on Wed albeit on the wrong side of the pitch. See also that despite the comments Rory doing well at Blackpool & making a commitment in the press to ensure he visits us when he can. Hope he does coz he owes me a pint!!!

Although Brett was on loan at Wigan towards the end of last season, I'm sure he went back to Southampton - shame it would have been great to see him play at the Crown Ground again

Re: Stanley Worry!!!

Last I heard, Brett was in talks with Wigan, but that was at the beginning of July. Unless he's signed in the last week or so, I don't think he's a Wigan player yet.

Re: Stanley Worry!!!

He hasn't signed for them dont think he will do either because now Peter Crouch has signed for Liverpool he'll have more of a chance getting first team football with Southampton....

He would rather play in the Premiership than Championship, and i think he would like to come back up North, so if he had the chance to sign for Wigan i think he would do, regardless of first team football in the Championship

Re: Stanley Worry!!!

Do you not think rocky deserves a start? Why arnt we after Phil Townley? he has been let go by liverpool, and is a both footed winger. Would be a great replacement for rory, we should get there before blackpool bury or tranmere grab him.
