He has been on the wider Accy forum & has a number of postings, dating back to this time last year. He was, however savaged by several members including yours truly and he ain't been seen since the latter part of last year.

Meanwhile, Greg Pope would have had plenty of opportuinity to see Stanley at home in the early part of the season. Parliament was in recess from July to 10th October, a period in which Stanley played at least 7 home games in the Conference alone. Alas, like Britcliffe, I believe Pope is a Rovers supporter.

Re: Stanleys dilapidated ground

I wasn't referring to him Tealeaf. I was having a go at a would-be councillor who has recently arrived on our scene.

Ooops......I take it then, you are referring to my old sparring friend, Mrs GK!

However, I don't see 'owt wrong with people now being attracted to Stanley. We can't have it both ways - on the one hand, saying we need more support and more people turning up at the game, while at the same time critisizing them for when they do or questioning their motives for doing so. This is a democracy, after all, and the more locally-elected leaders who consistently support the team, the better - irrespective of what political baggage they may carry.

Eastgate Retail Park has fallen on hard times hasn't it, c'mon Mr Jones take up the issue.

oh yeah, and I'm being sarcastic.

Re: Stanleys dilapidated ground

Give Gregg Pope & several of the councillors their due for attending several games this season but Mr Jones, who coincidentally is capable of posting his views on the non football side of this forum on the main Accy web, some how cannot find his way onto this part of the forum to explain his comments as much as he is incapable of finding the Interlink stadium.
To add to Keyco's comment above, ( wow, he does listen to his old man sometimes!) I did hear a whisper some time back while campaigning for the Whinney hill tip objections that land may be set aside on the old Huncoat power station site-but bear in mind was purely speculation without any foundation. however once a proper descision is made to put an access road to bypass Huncoat for the tip & reprocessing plant, the same access would be very useful for a stadium on there. Another case for Stanley fans to help the local community through REACH & Huncoat voice to add weight to this cause. (Note REACH is non political but a recognised campaigning body of local residents concerned for our local environment, ask me for more details if you want them).

Re: Stanleys dilapidated ground

One game that Greg Pope did attend was due to his son playing in the opposing team!! I think it might have been the GH game but could have been wrong. It was nice to see the whole family there supporting him and he did say that it made it difficult on which side to support but he really had to side with his son... good answer greg
