Stanlys Defence
Accringtons defenders are ,with respect, not skillfull enough to play the ball out of defence when under pressure from the opposition. All three Chester goals came from Stanley losing possesion or failing to clear the ball.
Mark Roberts and Robbie Williams both had poor games, but I was disappointed are fans started booing.

I thought Mark Roberts had a good game !!!! and robbie had a an alright game when he came on, the first goal was bad , but the second was a great finish by the chester player! Also the third goal was obviously offiside! However was a good game but we shouldnt need to score 3 to win at home.

Re: Stanlys Defence
how you can say mark roberts played well yesterday defies belief imho. he lost his man for the first goal which resulted in him heading back across goal for the lad to tap in. and he tried to head a ball six inches off the floor instead of using his feet which fell straight to there player on the edge of the box who produced a great finish.

Re: Stanlys Defence
Looking on reply later on it looked offside even on the opposite angle to clayton end & thought it was offside then too.

Re: Stanlys Defence
Personally speaking, I am of the opinion that the defence last Saturday, Mark Roberts included, had a stinker. TBH I though that Chester forwards were a yard faster than our defenders. The first and third goals could and should have been avoided, their strikers ghosted in to score on each occasion, who was supposed to be marking them? Every player can have an off day, so I won't have a pop at Mark Roberts because he has been a tower this season on many an occasion. I too thought Rocky was OK when he came on (and I am not one of his fans). For the life of me, I cannot understand leaving David Brown out either. He will surely be looking for a new team soon, which will be a crying shame IMHO.

Re: Stanlys Defence
It's my opinion that we need a defensive coach, not a goalkeeping coach, and have done for ages. Surely Kenny Arthur has all the experience he needs and can help the other two along? Coley's latest blast in the Tellywag is just so much hot air adding to global warming - it's getting boring and will have no effect whatsoever without some new, positive initiative on the defensive coaching front.

Yep i agree with you there, defense is a serious problem we have, more than the GK, the GK needs to rely on the defense no matter how good he is, the GK is the last line of the defense - so yeh it makes good sense does that.
now thats a new one for the LET, tellywag hehehehehehehe like it, can i borrow it??
