Star Spotting

Anyone impressed by the Liverpool U-21's?

I thought we'd have had trouble if the right winger number 50 had been on from the start

Re: Star Spotting

I was impressed by the Liverpool U21s but, fortunately, it took them until injury time to remember what the object of the game is.
Their ball control, passing accuracy, use of space, and speed on and off the ball were top class. Over two thirds of the pitch, they played as you’d expect a ‘premier’ league team to play, with lots of possession and difficult to rob them of the ball. But they barely had a shot on target until close to the end.
Had the game gone on for five more minutes it might have turned into a much longer night!
Also thought the players drafted in for Stanley did well. Toure didn’t rip up any trees but his presence allowed Tommy Leigh to get back to what he does best. Baba and Sloane did their jobs well. Having said that, the introduction of Clarke really upped Stanley’s game - he’s a real asset.

Both Toure and Nathan helps the shape they are natural strikers and are constantly in or around the box which with the way we as a team create chances hopefully more will be converted, just a word on Nathan looking a lot fitter at last and showing some good touches could have had a couple of goals last night.
