Supporters Trust

There may be one, but I can't find it, so forgive me if I am duplicating.

Assuming there isn't one, why aren't a group of supporters in the Accrington area (it would be difficult to set up from afar), going down the route of setting up an official supporters trust. If Ilyas Khan could be persuaded down that route, so much the better. Money raised could be held by the trust for any rainy day its needed to bail out the club.

The achievements of the supporters trust at Exeter City since the club went into administration at the time the club went out of the Football League are nothing short of miraculous. The supporters trust is now a majority shareholder in the club and continues to raise funds which it lends to the club, putting it in a very powerful position and giving it ultimate control over its board of directors.

To learn more about it and what's involved visit Exeter City FC Supporters' Trust - About the Trust and a subsection of the site: Exeter City FC Supporters' Trust - Exeter City Supporters' Trust - Our History

There are useful links on that site to organisations which can help, such as Supporters Direct.

Re: Supporters Trust

It's not clear from what I've read on here what ASSF is. Is it just a fundraising group, albeit a ltd co in its own right, or just a vehicle for Ilyas Khan to gather support and influence?

I've not seen anything to suggest it's a trust, a non-profit and democratic organisation being run under the auspices of the Industrial and Provident Societies Act

Re: Supporters Trust

I have pushed for this for a while, but it would take much longer than we have now. (20 days or so)

Its definately one for the future though.....

Thought they'd all got free transfers to the ASSF now?
