I don't understand this comment. Nobody was saying it was ok. I was merely stating a fact in response to your original statement.

you take it wrong then oggy... try not to presume too much in fact its one of my pet peeves that they dont tell us enough .. its the one thing i moan about to rob heys on a regular basis.. he is probably sick of getting emails off me about it and I think they should have put somehting on the site thanking him for his 3 yrs unpaid services to the club..
the point you missed was... thats hardly a reason to shame the club...

Re: Tannoy Man
Yeagh I hope thats sorted soon.... get "cart on" to the DJ or ask him why not being played... This could lead to more airtime for celtic cross.. may even get in the shops and charts

You really are literal man, Mr. K.
What I said was, "No, shame the club didn't tell people what was happening.", as in, " it is a shame the club didn't tell people what was happening. Which it is!!
Sigh .

My initial point stands, in that the club put themselves in this position by not letting people know what's going on.

And I will repeat I 100% agree wiht you and I do my best to try and rectify it... I also still hold by my original point that its a shame so many of you where so quick to think the club had done wrong.. You where all wrong and now your blaming lack of information.. I agree with the lack of info.. always have...probably ten fold... but I dont go with the school of thought that no info means wrong doing... while others seem to.

couple of posts that indicated he hadn't been told in the nicest of fashions were picked up on by the masses and misrepresented. It could be believed that the club informed him at the game that his services were no longer required. On a personal note, well done John for volunteering your services and setting the record straight that no wrong doing had occurred. I do think that though that volunteers in that sort of capacity should be allowed a 'sign off'. I also like to see players play one last game before going out on loan to better things. although I understand perfectly well why they can't. Its just nice to, if doable, to give people the chance to receive the applause they deserve.
Well done John for the last three years.
Well done the club for securing a deal with the media and for dealing with John in the correct manner.

Obfuscation, Kipax.
OK, while the club seem to have done right by Tannoy Man personally, they have neglected to inform the fans who have, quite rightly formed a bond with our announcer. While this is not exactly wrongdoing, it isn't right either. Any Tinpot organisation would have given everybody the chance to say goodbye properly.
In my view another own goal by the club.

Re: Tannoy Man
Yeah My apologies, I didn't mean to insinuate the club had done something wrong. I was speaking to a few people on saturday who said that ricky was already on the tannoy when John turned up to do it, obviously this wasn't the case and I hold my hand up.
The problem is that it wouldn't suprise any of us if this was the case, especially as at one point last season, John arrived at the ground to work the tannoy, only to be asked to train someone to take over his job!!!!
As Kipax says the club need to be more transparent on the small things, then maybe people would'nt grouch so much about the big things!!!

Re: Tannoy Man
I will ,miss 'Tannoy Mans' matchday input, thanks for everything John and may 2007 bring you all you would wish for you and yours.
I thought that the new guy did a great job, clear, concise, and quite witty at times..............so what if he 'upset' a few Burnley fans, go get a sense of humour!!
