Re: Tannoy Man
John - the usual Tanoy Man - was at the game today and just said he's been told he'd been sacked but hadn't been given a reason why. I think todays voice on the tanoy belonged to some bloke from 2BR

Re: Tannoy Man
well it sounded like Ricky Kirby from 2BR but somebody else said it was a guy from Radio Lancs. Judging by the way he announced the Burnley half-time (losing 2-0) three times, I would hazard a guess it wasn't the 2BR guy.

Re: Tannoy Man
The tannoy didn't seem to be working on the Whinney Hill terrace. Not at the top end anyway.

Re: Tannoy Man
Seems like a nasty trick. To wait for the bloke to turn up for his 'shift' and then tell him he's surplus to requirements.

It would be nice if the Club acknowledged the Gentleman’s contribution, maybe a piece on the fishy site or a corner of a page in the Programme. We need to recognise those that contribute their time freely to the club, even those in paid positions should have a mention when they move on to other things.
All the best Tannoy Man, thanks for the entertainment. Cart on.

Re: Tannoy Man
Do not know who was responsible but the announcement of Paul Mullin's second "equalising" goal just before half time against MK Dons is one memory I treasure.
It baffled the bloke next to me and got a mention in the MK Dons fans report.
I also liked the half time explanation.
Hopefully a regular favourite of mine the announcement of sponsored "stoppage time" at the end of each half remains unaffected. It led one away fan to ask "Is it sponsored by the minute?"
