This is just a short note to thank everyone at Accrington Stanley for making me feel so very welcome when I attended last Saturday's home match with Grays, the first time that I have ever been to the IES and the first time I have ever seen Stanley in action.
Though the result was not what we all hoped for, I think the atmosphere at the match was terrific - and speaking as an outsider not used to these occasions as yet - there was a very friendly family feel to the whole thing !

It made me so proud to be a new Stanley supporter !
Chatting to other spectators and meeting new friends afterwards confirmed what I had suspected all along - that this is a club with heart and soul - and regardless of the results on the field, it is certainly to be hoped that this feeling will never change

For me, it was a wonderful start to my weekend !
After the match, I went to Peel Park to take a look at the site of the old ground and tried to imagine in my mind how it must have been when Stanley were in their heyday in the late 1950's.Though it did sadden me in some ways, this was offset by the fact that Stanley are on the verge of a fantastic comeback to League Football !!!
Due to a change of domestic arrangements caused by my sister-in-law fracturing a hip in two places on Sunday (she suffers from multiple sclerosis and so my wife is staying with her and her husband till next Monday),I will now be able to go to the match at Forest Green on Friday evening and if results go our way this evening, a win there will clinch it !
(I hasten to add incidentally that I had to come home to be back at work tomorrow and my sister-in-law is in good safe hands in hospital and being operated on tomorrow).
To Steve (the supporters club wizard),Malcolm, Peter, Adam and all the many others whose names I did not catch or failed to remember (my apologies), thank you so much - it was an afternoon I will not forget, and I hope to join you at many more matches next season.
