I know he did a panicky cross field ball early on, but I was impressed by the way he was ordering the pros around, to keep their shape - not just the back four, but midfield as well. As a lad who's apparently only had one league outing, dealing with Premiership class strikers (and Kuqi) must have been pretty daunting.

That's three games he's played in so far - how long do trails last these days?

Dont think there is a rule is there that the club have to make a decision so along as they want, but cant play league football without signing a contract

Seems like three years!!

He's actually been there four weeks now, & given the number of people that have come & gone in that time, pleased to still be there.
He's really enjoying it, particularly the Blackburn game. He said Kuqi was easy as he always turned the same way - much easier than that Burnley who was just too fast for everyone.

He's always been one for shouting at people, and last season was key to Chesterfield youth team - everyone knew where they should be standing - and he clearly doesn't mind telling pros as well.

I would like to hedge a bet that JC is seriously thinking of keeping the 4 or 5 that are currently still on trial - they all seem to be doing a worthwhile job and from what I've seen at the Burnley, Bootle and Blackburn games, the first team lads seem to be on a good wavelength with them as well - This may also include Dunbavin as back up to Rob (when he signs that is - does it really take 2 weeks to cross T's and dot I's)

We're certainly hoping so after this time - Ash lives with his girlfriend, so four weeks of him not earning when you've bills to pay is a bit of a strain.

The good thing is that the youth team manager at Chesterfield keeps checking how things are going, and says he can get him fixed up at another league club if he doesn't get a contract with Stanley.

The thing I hope the manager bears in mind is that he's one for the future, at only 19, and therefore is cheap!

I hope he gives him a chance - as I said at the top, a 19 year old triallist sorting out the shape of the team must be a sign of promise, which as he gets bigger, stronger, & more experienced should turn him into a really good player.

he was ok sign him up and loan him out for a bit more expierence itll be a different kettle of fish in league 2

There have been some big names come from Chesterfield (including my missus) so with a close affinity with the area will look forward to his development here & hopeful contract. With three to four more friendlies JC should be close now to knowing who he wants in the squad. Fingers crossed 7 all the best for your lad.
