The Accy acadamy

The kids are now world famous... Just seen them, looking splendid in their Accy stan jackets eating Tripe at some Accrington market on Gordon Ramseys 'F' word programme. Top rated show over here so it all helps to spread the word. Shame the local codger who was doing it with Ramsey was a Blackburn supporter...kinda put a downer on things till the kids came on...

There not the academy, they are Stanley Juniors who are infact nothing to do with the club at all and will be changing there name back to what it used to be before playing under our name....

Re: The Accy acadamy

Just wondered if playing for the Accrington Academy is any big deal ?

Saw my lovely next door neighbour's grandad in the Co-op tonight and told me proudly his youngest had been invited to play for them. Just know he is going to come and tell me and don't wish to feel ignorant.

Re: The Accy acadamy

I'd have thought that playing for the academy would a big deal of sorts, but just getting a trial is no great shakes.

Numerous pfolk have complained to me that the academy give out 6 week trails to anybody that displays talent. That to me is a good thing and shows that we are trying to ensure that the cream of the local crop get spotted. The latest complainant was more bothered about the fact that whilst they are 'on trial' they cannot play for their clubs, thereby creating an unfair advantage in their league, especially if timed right But if we don't offer out trials like this then we will never get to see what the local kids can do.

Press on Academy, press on.
