The all-new rotherham thread !!.

Thought it might be my turn to start a Match Thread..which turned out to be a sort of an aide-memoire to myself...
1.) Don't forget to turn up !!...
2.) Make some noise..particularly when the 'get it up t'Field lads in the Main Stand start passing their useless bits of advice to Leam and his boys !.
3. Give Steve Evans the respect he deserves .....NO expletives !!..
4. Have a Pie !!
5.. Enjoy watching the resurgent Stanley...orchestrated by LR stick it up Rotherham !!....

WILL YOU BE THERE ??...

Let's just hope that with it being Lancashire Day, that we stuff the Tykes and send Fatty Evans home with nothing.

Some of us try to keep those old boys quiet. My presence in the main stand is simply to keep my father-in-law's seat but I am a Clayton-ender at heart with a desire to spread the singing around the ground. 5 years in and I am still trying
Make lots of noise for me tonight because work will keep me away until the second half. I anticipate us being 2-0 up by then; penalty from Beattie and a tap in from Murphy.

Doubt it !!...and I witnessed him slithering off for a free half-time Pie !!....
Incidentally, it was mentioned, following tonight's result, that my starting of this thread whilst intending to make a statement of confidence in our Team, quickly changed into a bit of a jinx on the Red's performance !,,,so I'll leave it all to Smudgie in future !!.
AND I'd better leave any analysis of the game to FA19 and Cashy as I am totally baffled by tonight's efforts !!.

Quite an array of managers at the match today (Jimmy Bell & John Coleman Rochdale) (Paul Cook Chesterfield) (Jim Bentley Morecombe)

Re: The all-new rotherham thread !!.

Really dissapointed tonight, gifted them two goals and didn't really threaten their goal apart from the goal and a bit of a half chance at the end.

How long can leam persevere with linfield on the right, works his socks off, gives 100% but his quality in the attacking 3rd is awful. Podge didn't contribute and Barnett flatters to deceive.

Sick

Re: The all-new rotherham thread !!.

Disappointing result and I thought Rotherham were there for the taking.Acci reverted back to there 4-2-3-1 system with podge up front and Charlie on the left of the three.
We got off to a great start with dean scoring from a corner, but then conceded a soft goal when he attempted to cushion header back to bav,who decided to come for it and was left in no mans land.
Linney had a great first half, delivering some quality balls, but we just couldn't get anybody on the end of them.
That's been our Achilles heal,as we need to at least hold the ball up front,in contrast, revell did that very well for them, and caused toto a lot of problems.
There centre back, sharp, was never really tested, and you can't get the runners going if you don't hold the ball up.
The positives were we once again matched a top team, even though we were below par,and Atkinson had another good game.
There second goal seemed a bit of a fluke, were bav seemed to push the cross/shot onto lids and into the goal the ball went.

Think Dean was a bit suprised he had to deal with it, should have been dealt with by Toto

Re: The all-new rotherham thread !!.

Dont know about that Dave, but the dvd will clear it up.
Defenders dont like conceeding any goals, and that, like the second goal, was a bit of a fluke.
Was sat with Blackburns former goal-keeping coach (who was reporting/watching a rotherham player),and he was impressed with a lot of Accringtons work,
Its always good to get a totally independent few of the game, especially from a former top pro and excellent coach.(he found Evans very amusing to say the least!!).
Think he maybe shakermaker in disguise,as they shared a lot of similar views!!.
I will leave out what his goalkeeping views were, as they are not the same as mine ,but he did comment on the need to keep posession and hold the ball up,which we agreed on,
Looking forward to a positive response on saturday, which i know we will give,ps play Beattie please !!!

Definately not Shaker as I was sat with him and I don't think your mate is Shaker's girlfriend or Mum who were sat either side of him

Talking of keepers, how old does Warrington look

Re: The all-new rotherham thread !!.

We had the wrong tactics - they had the right ones.

We did nothing but big boot up to the short front men. Suprisingly it didn't work.

They didn't give Joyce or Miller any time on the ball and on the day they just wanted it more.

We are a good footballing team, with the players we've got we're mad to be playing nout but the long ball.
