The cost of Promotion to the FL

Is it really all that coming up to the FL?

Forest Green have reported losses of £2.5m for last season, the good news being that it is an improvement on the previous year (£2.9m). Their wage bill was £2.1m for that season

Forest Green are in the village of Nailsworth, they aren't ever going to get huge crowds so what on earth is the point of funding them to the levels they are getting?

Re: The cost of Promotion to the FL

I remember many years ago when Halifax came down to the conference from the league. We spoke to the visiting directors who all said it was a great financial relief for the club. So the cost of low league status is not worth the cost, Thanks to the financial structure fron the good old FA.

the owner is in the renuable energy business so gets loads of government grants that we pay for. he,s into veggie food as well so if you manage to walk up the steep hill from the village to the ground don,t expect a burger. don,t know what gates they get but i know another club who are not that well supported either.

probebly on par with us. would drop like a stone if they started to loose regularly. same as us as well really, fans in the area probebly go to the bristol clubs or swindon and have done for years plus its in the manchester united catchment area. people need a reason to change clubs they support.
