Re: The (early) Mansfield thread.

Good news on the injury front with Pritchard back in full training, Bagealhue not far away being monitored and Shipley back training next week just Sean then I think on the long term list

Jay has to be careful. Booking was a joke, but could have been gone on 10 mins.

0-1 overhead kick. Great finish but Coyle would have had an assist if he had worn yellow.

0-2. Mansfield clearly the better side.

Re: The (early) Mansfield thread.

Mansfield are not dominating in any way, but they are better organized and can string a few passes together.
Stanley on the other hand need a free-kick or a Tommy Leigh throw-in to get anywhere near a scoring chance.
With a midfield with two defensive stopper types who do very little going forward, we are never going to create many chances.

"Where oh where has our midfield gone ?.."
Or maybe better still. .."do we have a Midfield unit ? ".
Then again do we have a Football 'Team'..or just 11 lads chasing a Football around for the afternoon ?.
As you will all have guessed ..I find this lame excuse for a Team to be not one interested in going places. I
Oh yes !.. and they are desperately in need of an on-field leader !.
Second half coming up !..I hope they make me eat these sour words !.

Ross Joyce is a shocker.

He did us at Harrogate 2 weeks ago. Gave them a penalty when everyone saw it was chest first and then sent Rawson off when the foul was by the Harrogate player !

Re: The (early) Mansfield thread.

Time for substitutes methinks ?.
The entire midfield are absolutely useless going forward...and we are desperately in need of a goal right now !.
Like I say we need a leader !.

Re: The (early) Mansfield thread.

Coyle has been terrible. Why wait until the game is beyond saving before you substitute him?

Not just Coyle Greger !.. The Reds are not playing as a team..and their Captain who I'm watching closely isn't inspiring or driving them to become one...

QUO VADIS STANLEY ?.

Re: The (early) Mansfield thread.

Agree Yonmon,
But it was the obvious substitution to make. When we are as bad as we were, why wait to 0-3 and 75 minutes to change anything?
Poor coaching imho.

I know that I'm a grumpy old Dinosaur.... But honestly, I want to see better than the abysmal display masquerading as a game of Football which I was unfortunate enough to witness this afternoon.
Like I said ,QUO VADIS STANLEY ?.

Re: The (early) Mansfield thread.

Second best from kick you could see the lower league and experience in Mansfield and very well organized by a decent manager in Clough once we went behind there was only one winner, what baffled me before kickoff was the selection and line up of our team we have been looking for a left back for years we bring two in abliet one injured at the moment but why have Longelo who has looked good at this level so far why not pick Gubbins and move Longelo forward, with him and 36 years old Whalley who is proven at league 2 and still looks good a great creative midfield with someone in the centre who shows more interest than Liegh. Sooner Joe is back the better and hopefully gets a run of games free from fresh injures too many in our squad aren't up to league 2 never mind league 1, substitution,s baffled once again it needed change at half time two made at 90+ ????? As for Savin an absolute mare could blame him for two off the goals some sat around me said all three but Conneely was raging at him for the second and Seamus was right it was a keeper,s ball to challenge for.
