certainly they should, but look at the picture the ref can easy say he never saw evans do it. you cant rely on refs decisions.

Re: The Fleetwood game Thread
Watching todays game was a case of Groundhog Day for the last two matches. No shape to the play leaving wide gaps on the wings.everybody wanting to play in midfield and not being able to hang onto the ball once in possession.
As for the goalie throwing or passing short balls in the penalty area I think we are playing russian roulette every match and we will suffer for it eventually.
The team does need to gel as every season lately Coley has had to build a new team from scratch but the man marking and tighter play should not be seen as rocket science. Get the ball keep the ball pass the ball!
It's early days yet and one good win will lift the team but let's not leave it too much longer.

Build a new team from scratch?
Evtimov Johnson Sykes Hughes Clark Finlay Conneely McConville - all started.
Hardly a new team.

Re: The Fleetwood game Thread
Senior/Experienced players are more of a concern for me at the moment than the new signings.

Re: The Fleetwood game Thread
Long way to go; tough game on Saturday against MK.
Not sure Saturdays tactics will work against MK based on how they set up last season; haven’t watched MK this season.

with the keeper doing this short throw or kick routine the opposition are further up in our half than they should be. cannot see the difference in the keeper kicking it long than him throwing out to a defender who eventually does the same. the first option stops any mistakes happening.

right infront of the 4th official and near the linesman also. you,d think they could have got that decision spot on really.

It is all based on possession - though you know that - and comes from Spain, Barca and now City/Liverpool
The opposition cannot score, if you have the ball
Coley has played like this for years, we were best at it when we have Sean Hessey, Proccy and Luke Joyce
I do not have any problem with the way we play, what I would like to see, is a variation
We have a couple of big(ger) lads up front this season, so kicking it long occasionally should be an option!

Re: The Fleetwood game Thread
aye but we frequently dont have the ball with poor distribution, its a damn site less risky to lose it in oppositions half surely?

Somebody wake me up!
For a moment I thought I'd wandered into another dimension, or is this the Fantasy Football thread????
Let's get back to reality.
There are NO football professionals - from any league, proven or not, beating a path to John Coleman's door for the privilege of playing for peanuts in front of the lowest gates in the EFL.
Panic punts? Huge gambles? Really????
When it comes to gambling Stanley aren't sitting at the casino table with the high-rollers.
They're in the penny arcade trying to drop that elusive fiver temptingly perched on the edge of the tuppenny waterfall.
Stanley will never inhabit the world of fantasy football. For us it is & will always remain the Hunger Games.
Pardon me for disagreeing, but aren't we already living the dream!
Thanks to Coleman & Bell, we're playing football in League 1. Flyweights punching above our weight in the Middleweight division.
Now & then we'll suffer a k.o! The odd black eye is par for the course.
Thanks to Andy Holt, we're debt free & actually made a profit last year. Rarer than a winding up order from HMRC.
Of course, we could always take a massive gamble by spending millions we haven't got on players we can't afford, in the hope of achieving success.
Bolton & Bury followed that road - it leads to the edge of oblivion.
That would be pafetic, sorry I meant p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c !

Ah, possession! The most meaningless statistic of many meaningless statistics in today’s football world.
It’s an example of using one of the business world’s more stupid activities, which is to place a spurious value only on the things you can count, not the things that matter but you can’t count.

Yet again you miss the point sir. Do you think we’ve got these players and are paying them nothing ?
Let’s assume a grand a week x 12
How about two grand a week x 6 and get some experience ?

Fair enough! But tell me this?
How much would it cost the club to buy these experienced players who are worth £2k a week?
Or are they available on a free transfer?
