'The Gas' on 'The Pirates..Bristol Rovers thread

John Ward and his Buccaneers are looking to purloin three points from The Reds on their foray North to t'Storefirst
He says..."They are not winning and we have not won for a bit, so it will be the team that has the confidence and strength to have a go at the opposition.
If we can defend as well and be as strong as we have been in recent weeks away from home, perhaps we can spring ourselves on them a little bit. I don't know how the game will pan out, but I do know I have a team with a strong attitude to give us a chance of winning ".

This struck me as possibly being a facsimile of the sort of rallying call which JB might well produce for 'the Reds' prior to tomorrow's game.

So have we got the Players to respond to the call, and have we got a Captain with the drive and determination to get the best out of them ?, tomorrow evening's efforts will answer these questions once and for all. This would seem to be the game which they surely know they must win,and a match to prove themselves to all who hold our Club dear to their hearts !.

Just another night at The Crown ?.

Well 13 is unlucky for some.......Being the 13th game of the season......Here's hoping it's unlucky for Bristol !!!

Re: 'The Gas' on 'The Pirates..Bristol Rovers thread

He speaks again !

Bristol Rovers manager John Ward told BBC Radio Bristol:

"Accrington will be saying the same as us. They're going through a tough time and this is a team we can beat.
"I know from my experience in Lancashire that a Tuesday night, under floodlights, when it's wet and windy, is a test of character as much as anything else.
"Their guys are going to be used to that so we are going to have to be strong in order to compete."

Seems that at Bristol Rovers it is believed that every Tuesday night that comes around it is wet and windy in Accrington !, and that for some mysterious reason that our squad are, unlike other mortals, impervious to such conditions !.

Is Mr Ward being sneaky and attempting, via this bit of weather-forecasting,seeking to instill a false sense of security in the Stanley camp, or more wisely making up excuses to use after his team's demise tonight ?....
