Re: The King is gone = new management, who?
Several different media outlets have ran with the story this morning that compensation had been agreed, rumoured to be 25k, but I doubt that, and that neither Rovers or Accrington will comment until tomorrow. I'm not saying because several media outlets said it it's gospel, but when they ran with the story they said "Confirmation of.."
Have you's heard talks have broken down though?

No. Hence the wink. Which media organisations?
Just seems odd to let Leam sign Will Hatfield on permanent terms the day before replacing him.

Re: The King is gone = new management, who?
As I was saying to an old codger in the shop this morning, if it turns out to be true I think they have done Leam a favour. Coley is one of the most difficult acts to follow. For a young man with ambition you don't want to be taking that as your first job. If it works then he would be a hero, but football is a funny old game and if it went whatsits up his managerial aspirations would be ruined before he even gets his feet firmly established on the ladder

Very well said.
First job as a Manager at League 2 play offlevel ? You'd have to be bloody good, odds are strongly against doing well, especially hard when you've spent the last 5+ years as "one of the lads"
Cooky knows the club and is a proven manager who plays a similar style of team to Coley so should be able to work with the players we've got.
Keep Leam around if he wants to stick around and let him learn his trade a bit more.

Local media mainly, Ocean FM and then radio stations such as FM104 reporters tweeting it.
Also read an article, here's the link Stanley in talks with Paul Cook over manager job | Accrington Observer - menmedia.co.uk , which quotes your chief executive confirming Accrington have held talks with Paul and although the plan was to ''take our time'' on selecting a new manager they had to ''react to events''.
Find it strange myself that they said they'd give Richardson time but despite his 100% record (albeit only one game) all the signs look like appointing someone else.

This might change your mind, taken off RTE news posted tonight 17.55 it reads as follows........
Cook expected back in Sligo
Friday, 10 February 2012 18:00
Paul Cook is expected to return to Sligo Rovers after talks regarding the vacant managerial position with Accrington Stanley "concluded unsuccessfully."
Cook was given permission to speak with the English League Two side earlier in the month.
The Liverpudlian, who has served close to five years in the North West, has been linked to a number of jobs in recent times, including St Johnstone who he turned down last November.
A Sligo statement read: "Sligo Rovers wish to announce that Paul Cook is expected to return to Sligo this weekend after talks between Paul and Accrington Stanley concluded unsuccessfully.
"We would like to thank Accrington's Peter Marsden for his professionalism and courtesy in the negotiations with Sligo Rovers and we wish them the very best for the future.
"We would also like to thank our supporters for their patience this week regarding this issue and look forward to a return to focus on our pre-season preparations."
