The Peel Park phone number
Q. What was the club's phone number just before the 1962 departure from the league?
A. Accrington 2945
One day this will be a quiz question, so remember it.

Re: The Peel Park phone number
Looks like Ossy Kid is right. The 4 digit number was prefixed by a 3 sometime just before the exit from the league. I cannot ascertain a date. All Accy numbers acquired a 3, as this was the code from the Blackburn exchange, the main one for our area to Acc.
2945 might make a good PIN number for a 100% Red.

Re: The Peel Park phone number
I remember the change - we changed completely (from 2511 to 31925 iirc) and stopped sharing a party line with our neighbours. Around 1960 I would guess ...
Nostalgia's not what it used to be!
