The post match v Notts County

All I can offer up is that I watched about 15 minutes of mid first half 'action', and I thought we were ****.County looked a class above us ,we had Relegation written all over us. Maybe we improved in the second stanza, I don't know-couldn't bring myself to watch it. Thought McGoldrick was a class act.
Maybe thats the worst we play this season and from now on we start to shine. Hope so.

We did improve in the second half after the introduction of O'Brien & Batty, young Charlie Caton looked a decent prospect too.but, in reality, County had more quality (as they should with the money they've spent) & it showed
One to.forget & we move on to.Crewe next week

Re: The post match v Notts County

We were beyond awful although the ref did his best to stifle what began as a combative match by issuing three yellow cards, none really warranted, inside the first ten minutes.
But, jings, we were truly poor today. Stanley need some defensive coaching unless standing being 10-15 yards away from an attacking opponent is now classed as “marking your man”. McGoldrick was a class apart but he was given free passage all over the park.

Bad news on Zak Awe, apparently ruptured his achilles & gone back to Southampton - we won't see him again in a Stanley shirt

That is bad news for us, and especially him. Hope he makes a good recovery. We need another central defender quickly.

Agree with AccyMad that, yes we were poor particularly in the first half but County were superb with McGoldrick orchestrating their play. IMHO County are the best League Two team, by a street, that I have seen this season! IMHO our two Woods boys are not wing backs. As said above just move on and focus on the next match. Terrible news about Zach Awe.

Played poorly and lost. ..... is better than played well and lost. Got to take that. But can we squeeze some points from the short trip to Crewe and Cheltenham ay home. May depend on who we get in this week and how quickly the new lad up-front settles in. I just hope JD and GB play our players in their "proper" positions......the Woods's are "wasted" and "poor" as Wing-Backs.....also Whalley and Walton should play wider and we now have a choice of fit centre forwards....so let's play them!
