Clearly, Ilyas is keeping the club afloat with some cash injections to keep the money hawks away, but also he wants the background situation sorting out before he will be prepared to commit to a real plan for the future. Thanks Ilyas for your continued efforts to try and clear this up. Like Ilyas, we can only hope that Eric and Dave and others get their heads together and talk and sort stuff out quickly. Then we can move forward with a new belief and vison for a solid future. Come on Eric, Dave we appreciate all that you have done for the club, particularly Eric who has put years of personal effort and cash into the rise of the club back to the league, but now it is time to move forward into the next phase of the rebirth of our wonderful story...the story of Accrington Stanley!! Let it continue on Wednesday night...WE MUST NOT DIE AGAIN!!!

Like you choirboy, I heard the Radio Lancs interview, and I was really worried. It sounded like Eric and D'On were stalling and reading between the lines, it sounded like they wanted us in administration (which thanks to Ilyas will not happen, but there again, you can only push the guarantee so far and personally, I think the club is well over the line), so that they can buy the club back on the cheap. I'm with the older members of the forum, Cashy Wynonie who remebered 1963, it hurt then and I do not want to hurt again over the loss of my beloved football club.
So as I echo what choirboy has said, thanks for the memories Eric, you did what you promised to do, thanks Dave for the cash you gave the club prior to the aborted take over from Eric, but please, this is a community club and the way the club are going (players wise) we are going up not out.

Re: the REAL good news (takeover etc)
Noble sentiments indeed from Choirboy and Outback re. Eric and DO'N, but these guys are the opposite of George Clooney's escapers in Oh Brother Where Art Thou, who "Had a plan but not a clue". They are certainly clued up in the dark arts of delay, obfuscation and brinkmanship, but as for a plan, it's all very murky. Just what exactly do they want? It's all very well Ilyas being interviewed on Radio Lancs being diplomatically optimistic, but it's high time the media guys put the 2 other "protagonists" on the spot with some searching questions. Radio Lancs were happy to have Eric on their regular Non League footy show back in the day, so how about it you journos? Oh for some proper investigative journalism from our toothless local rags in the style of that TV guy Cooke, who isn't afraid to go knocking on doors.

Think if one of the "Big Boys" investigated, would get much nearer a solution, if only.

Re: the REAL good news (takeover etc)
Having just read Choirboy,I feel exactly the same.Eric has taken the club as far as he can and now its time to step down and let others with new ideas ,take hold of the reigns and lead us forward. If the said truely had the club at heart there would be no hesitation what so ever. Ilyas, you have the heart and patience of a saint , you truely have Stanley in your heart, without you and Peter Marsden the club would have been dead and buried months ago. I thank you both for bringing us this far . I just hope now that Eric and David do the right thing for Stanley sooner than later , but I'm not holding my breathe .

Re: the REAL good news (takeover etc)
The story of 2011, is one of two men holding back the progress of the smallest club within the last 18 months. Think the players are playing good now ? Imagine if they got paid on time. Imagine if they had decent facilities and a positive attitude from the management (not Coley and Jimmy). I know they only reason I would want to be putting 100% in is not because Im not getting paid but because Im wanting to put myself in the shop window. For a PROFESSIONAL club.

Re: the REAL good news (takeover etc)
Heard the second part tonight of the interview with Ilyas once again an honest and straight assessment of the situation.
Good Luck hope it all happens soon
I think a lot of frustration certainly felt by by myself is perhaps having to watch it unfold in front of our eyes while in some ways being able to do little about it, one can only imagine how it has felt for others?
Also noted Coley's views sometimes difficult again when you are on the outside looking in?
Atr the end of the day we still have a Club to support, a team that are flying and hopefully can push on that little bit more with our help and backing.
To Infinity & Beyond
